All-Stars Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce, plus president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, coach Doc Rivers, and owner Wyc Grousbeck visited Wallace in his suburban Detroit home last week. After the three-hour meeting, Wallace, 34, indicated he also would be considering overtures from Orlando and San Antonio. But Wallace canceled those meetings, informing the Celtics of his intention to accept their offer Wednesday, the first day free agents are eligible to sign.

I'd heard the rumors, but apparently it's official now. Wallace is up there in age much like the rest of the Celtics... but if the team can stay healthy, they should have another good shot of winning the championship again.

there limited in what they can do until the big three start coming off the books... I believe one comes off next year and another the year after and the Garnett the year after... so starting next offseason they can start targeting some max contract players.JMU DJ wrote:I'd heard the rumors, but apparently it's official now. Meantime this is a smart signing short term, relatively inexpensive and keeps them in contention while they still have the big three on the books
