In a shockingly forthcoming interview with Fox’s Colin Cowherd Tuesday, former Phillies star Lenny Dykstra admitted that he hired private investigators to dig up dirt on Major League umpires in order to give himself an advantage.
“I said ‘I need these umpires,’ so what do I do? I just pulled a half-million bucks out and hired a private investigation team. Their blood is just as red as ours. Some of them like women, some of them like men, some of them gamble. Some of them do whatever … It wasn’t a coincidence do you think that I led the league in walks the next two years, was it? Fear does a lot to a man.

I still remember sitting in front of my TV, for like an hour, after the Game 6 loss. If only Fregosi had left Mason in to pitch the 8th inning rather than going to way-too-old Larry Anderson, then they Blue Jays lineup wouldn't have been turned over and then Mitch Williams would've been facing the bottom of the lineup rather than the top of it in the 9th inning. We get through that game and the Series was our's - Schilling was going in Game 7 and there's no way he was being beaten that year in a Game 7. And all because Fregosi couldn't have left Roger Mason in to pitch after looking great in the 7th. Oh well.

Oh, and yes, unbelievably shocking that Lenny Dykstra was a douchebag. Next we'll find out that Bill Cosby likes to drug women for sex.
