Congratulations to Rachel Balkovec, the new manager of the Tampa Tarpons (Low A East), in the New York Yankees minor league chain. She previously served in the Yankees organization as a batting instructor. Balkovec is the first female manager in the minor leagues. Things are looking up for the integration of sports!
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
