Chiefs 25-22 but as everyone saw it was very close Steve Wilks had a great game plan to deal with Mahomes in the first half of SB(58)
Which he got away from late in the game, going soft and therefore allowing KC to get back in the game.
Blame can also go to Kyle Shanahan, who seemed to completely forget that Christian McCaffrey even existed in the second half.
Sound familiar?

Did the 49ers lose it or did the Chiefs win it?
- Chris Jones made huge plays to stop the 49ers at critical moments.
- Trent McDuffie was lights out, that pass deflection on Deebo in the endzone was textbook.
- Travis Kelce caught 1 pass for 1 yard in the 1st half and 8 passes for 92 yards in the 2nd half.
- Harrison Butker was 1/1 on PATs and 4/4 on FGs including the longest in Super Bowl history.

Don't get me wrong, '88. I was rooting for the Chiefs, largely because my three favorite NFL teams are the Cowboys, the Raiders, and whoever plays the 49ers. There were MANY Chiefs who did what was required to nail down the victory in the second half. They took advantage of the cards dealt them. But they were in a position to be able to do so because Shanahan and Wilks screwed the pooch in the second half with their bad play-calling. Of course, having done that, they COULD have benefited from the Chiefs p!$$ing the newfound chance to win away, but the Chiefs didn't do that, did they?

Patience young padawan.
Back when Reid was with the Eagles, fans and pundits frequently criticized his game management, play calling, etc.
At age 44, Shanahan has taken his team to 2 Super Bowls while Reid didn't make his first Super Bowl until he was 45 and didn't win one until he was 60.
And as a Kansas City Chiefs / Dallas Texans fan I can't stand the Cowboys or the Raiders.

49ers lost it.
-49ers muffed punt in redzone = only Chiefs TD in regulation.
-49ers missed PAT
With the Special teams 8 point choke by the 49ers there is no OT.
+the 49ers went away from the run game which was working early.

Both teams made mistakes.
Mahomes was going to do what he had to do to get them in the endzone and one the game. The muffed punt just made shortened the distance.
PAT was blocked by Leo Chenal.

Jones should have garnered MVP votes he did for KC what Aaron Donald did for the Rams.
