They never show the spit actually hitting the ball.

Next time you watch him pitch, notice how many times the guy spits. Its like he has the worst cotton-mouth in history.

No wonder he was ineffective in Arizona - he was dehydrated!!!

he spits that right on the seam.

I don't think anything is tainted, I just can't believe the umps didn't notice it and this is the first video of it.

Maybe it did miss the ball and the angle looks like it hit and thats why its finally a video, idk.

He's not going to be that obvious if he's throwing a spitter. A dab of vaseline or anything else slippery under the brim of the hat or behind the ear would make it a lot easier. Hell, if you sweat enough, you can just use that.
