SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

I've seen fastpitch softball pitchers get drilled a number of times (though thankfully not in the head in the ones that I've seen in person). Scary stuff.

Considering that the pitching mound is only 43' away (or is it 40'?) doesn't leave much reaction time on those line drives. Especially with the speed of the ball coming off a metal bat.

Jay: that's exactly why I use a wood bat even for slow pitch. I have no desire being responsible for the death of a pitcher. Not much chance of that in my case, and I'm no threat to knock any out even with the most advanced composite bat on the market, but I'm still scared of jacking up a pitcher, and I can't stand the ping of a metal bat.

Not sure the sound effects are very appropriate. Pretty violent shot to the head. :ohno:

Pretty nasty shot at the pitcher. Still love the Cuban baseball brawl. Gotta love the guy on the opposong team who ran into the dugout to get his own bat.
