Schefter: Steelers Trying To Trade Roethlisberger
From a tweet from the ESPN writer:
Pittsburgh has begun contacting teams to trade Ben Roethlisberger for a top 10 pick. At least one team considering it.
Here is the top 10 order for the draft..
1. St. Louis (1-15)
2. Detroit (2-14)
3. Tampa Bay (3-13)
4. Washington (4-12)
5. Kansas City (4-12)
6. Seattle (5-11)
7. Cleveland (5-11)
8. Oakland (5-11)
9. Buffalo (6-10)
10. Jacksonville (7-9)
Not sure who I would pick from that list as being the "at least one" team considering it. Guesses?

Roethlisberger is ten times better than Cassel and if KC could land him, they should (ethics withholding)
The whole point of a 'trade' for KC is so that they might be able to pass off the contract to Pittsburgh, or at least a portion of it.
Maybe the Skins will trade Haynesworth for Roeth!

If McNabb could net just a 2nd & conditional 3rd rounder, no one is going to give a top 10 pick for football's version of an unmarried Tiger Woods.

Maybe the Skins send McNabb and Haynesworth to the Steelers for Rapelisburger???
Nah -- the Steelers ate to smart for that. Dont count out the Raiders.

I don't think so. Ben has already won 2 SBs and is five (six?) years younger than McNabb. Like him or not, there are some teams that are probably salivating to get their hands on him (again, ethics withholding).bluehenbillk wrote:If McNabb could net just a 2nd & conditional 3rd rounder, no one is going to give a top 10 pick for football's version of an unmarried Tiger Woods.

How bout the Rams? They are gonna use the #1 overall on a QB anyway might as well get a proven QB.

I could see that.UNHWildCats wrote:How bout the Rams? They are gonna use the #1 overall on a QB anyway might as well get a proven QB.
IMO all depends on how much baggage a team is willing to take on.

Here are teams that Steelers have called about Roethlisberger: Rams, 49ers, Raiders, Bills, Jaguars, Seahawks and Browns.
Rams and Bills are confirmed to have said they have no interest leaving that at least one team as one of: Niners, Raiders, Jags, Seahawks or Browns

Do you seriously think Big Ben had one thing to do with winning that 1st one? Cmon, see Trent Dilfer.bandl wrote:I don't think so. Yes, I do believe that Ben had, perhaps, one thing to do with them winning the SB in 2005.bluehenbillk wrote:Do you seriously think Big Ben had one thing to do with winning that 1st one? But let’s not forget that the Steelers went 9-3 that year with him playing, 2-2 without. That he was the 2004 offensive rookie of the year. That he has the fifth highest winning percentage of all-time. That he has the ninth highest passer rating of all time. That he has the fifth highest yards per attempt all-time. That he has the eighth highest completion percentage of all-time. That he is only 28 and still in his prime. Yeah….that was all definitely on the Steelers defense, so it’s probably fair to say that he certainly doesn’t have a resume that teams would give a shit about.
