Atlanta-
Braves - reminiscing about the glory days of the early and mid-90s that are gone
Falcons - first consecutive seasons with a winning record! Woot!
Georgia Tech football - doing well, but has tendency to quit after bowl season begins
Georgia Tech basketball - hahahahahahaha
Hawks - almost good enough to care about
That one NHL team from Atlanta - WTF is this "NHL"? Naitonal horseracing league?

Looks like it's going to be a long, or more accurately, short series for the suns.

Kobe loves Phoenix

...and Phil Jackson
First he asked what all the fuss was about for a bill that, in his opinion, merely enforced existing federal laws against illegal immigration. He's allowed to ask that question.

At this point, Z, you should probably be thanking me for jinxing the Lakers.

Knowing how David Stern operates, I'd be absolutely SHOCKED if it's not a Lakers/Celtics finals. This whole fiasco is just a scam to get more money out of the paying public.Grizalltheway wrote:At this point, Z, you should probably be thanking me for jinxing the Lakers.![]()

Tim Danaghy was on the Dan Patrick show on the 25th talking about this.AZGrizFan wrote:Knowing how David Stern operates, I'd be absolutely SHOCKED if it's not a Lakers/Celtics finals. Former NBA official Tim Donaghy joined the show to talk about the way the playoffs have been officiated.
Donaghy said that the way the playoff series have played out confirm his theory on how officials extend series by giving the trailing teams an edge. Donaghy said they're trained that way because it helps the league financially.
"If you realy sit down and look at some of the calls, you're going to realize something funny is going on," Donaghy said.
Donaghy pointed specifically to the Celtics-Magic game on Monday night. "Jameer Nelson is totally out of control and falls down and gets the benefit of the doubt," Donaghy said.
Donaghy predicted we would see this play out in the Lakers-Suns series, which L.A. leads 2-1. "I will see Phoenix get the benefit of the calls tonight," Donaghy said.

Philadelphia...only 4-sport city in the country to send teams to the Finals in each in the past 10 years.
76ers...2001...lost to the Lakers in the NBA Finals. Don't ask how it's gone since.
Eagles...2005...lost to Patriots in the Super Bowl...bunch of NFC Championship games also, most ended poorly
Phillies....2008..World Series Champs, 2M+ at the parade, made WS in 2009 too
Flyers...2010...in the Stanley Cup Finals
And don't try to tell me New York did it, if your team name starts with New Jersey it doesn't count. New Yorkers want little to do with New Jersey, and it really sticks in their craw when you remind them the Statue of Liberty is technically not in New York, it's in Jersey.
