The playing field is not the entire stadium, the team, local infrastructure, amenities etc are also included.89Hen wrote:Again. NOT a ranking of stadiums. Tropicana Field anyone? FedEx Field?

Just saying, this isn't a ranking of stadiums. The team, local infrastructure, the coach, the number of championships have nothing to do with the stadium itself.Gil Dobie wrote:The playing field is not the entire stadium, the team, local infrastructure, amenities etc are also included.89Hen wrote:Again. I finally made it to a game there in 2005. It's hard to believe that stadium was built in the late 90s. It seems a relic already. Very concrete and boring. Ingress/egress is a disaster. The satellite parking buses didn't have dedicated lanes out, so they waited with the rest of the gridlock. Just a terrible gameday experience.89Hen wrote:FedEx Field?

I turn down free tickets every year, all year long. Last game I went to was probably 4 years ago. Took Jr to see the Birds and from the time we left our seats to the time I pulled in my driveway... 3 hours. For Hens games, which are 100 miles door to door, we're home in 1:40 including a stop at the WaWa on Elkton Road.93henfan wrote:I finally made it to a game there in 2005. I would beg to differ. Which would you more likely enjoy, a Phillies game in Philadelphia or a Kansas City Royals vs Oakland A's game in Philadelphia? Would you support an Al Davis team in Philadelphia? Certain factors take away from the enjoyment and aura of a stadium.89Hen wrote:Just saying, this isn't a ranking of stadiums. Maybe I'm just reading too much into the title. But explain...Gil Dobie wrote:I would beg to differ. I think the rankings are for all around atmosphere when attending a home game. Stadium, crowd, ammenities, concessions, etc. would all factor in. It certainly would explain why the Flyers are ahead of the Sixers.89Hen wrote:Maybe I'm just reading too much into the title. But explain...Gil Dobie wrote:I would beg to differ. 59. Philadelphia Flyers
109. Philadelphia 76ers
It's the same arena. This isn't a ranking of stadiums or arenas. It's a ranking of franchises.

I realize that. But I'm guessing the Flyers and Sixers have the same parking, same concession, same seating, same everything, except the product on the ice/floor. So this is NOT a ranking of stadiums.SunCoastBlueHen wrote:I think the rankings are for all around atmosphere when attending a home game. I agree it's not a ranking of the just the design of the concrete structure, it's the entire stadium experience. As noted the Flyers Stadium experience rates higher than the 76er's Stadium experience for obvious reasons. I've stated that several times.89Hen wrote:I realize that. It's certainly judging atmosphere too - having been recently to a game for each (well, recent being like 5 years for the Sixers) it's a vast difference attending a game for one versus one for the other.89Hen wrote:Maybe I'm just reading too much into the title. So then add "Experience" to your title.Gil Dobie wrote:I agree it's not a ranking of the just the design of the concrete structure, it's the entire stadium experience. This. When I saw the link from the Minnesota Twins website the Twins posted it as something like "Target Field ranked number 1 in Stadium Experience.89Hen wrote:So then add "Experience" to your title.Gil Dobie wrote:I agree it's not a ranking of the just the design of the concrete structure, it's the entire stadium experience. When I post a restuarant rating, it will be based only on the architecture of the building and not the food, service, amenities etc, for your convenience Mr Thread Title Czar...........89Hen wrote:So then add "Experience" to your title.Gil Dobie wrote:I agree it's not a ranking of the just the design of the concrete structure, it's the entire stadium experience. You just need to talk to the right people(me) before you go. My in-laws live within 4 miles of Fed Ex. You can take the back roads and bypass almost 95% of the traffic. There is a giant sign at the corner of Sherrif and Brightseat that says NO RIGHT TURN. But if you have your blinker on and parking pass hanging, the police will stop traffic and let you turn. The main gate is 100 feet away. Then turn at the first right into the parking lots and continue straight into the PG County Athletic Center lots. Its a long walk to the stadium, but the PG County center has it's own exit out onto Sherrif.93henfan wrote:I finally made it to a game there in 2005. I would appreciate that.Gil Dobie wrote:When I post a restuarant rating, it will be based only on the architecture of the building and not the food, service, amenities etc, for your convenience Mr Thread Title Czar...........

I know Snyder has already discussed a new stadium with DC officials. FedEx has only been open for 13 years. I wonder what the shortest life ever for a stadium was, for a major sport tenant?andy7171 wrote:I do agree FedEx is a sh!thole though. JKC pushed that thing through to be finished before he died. I fully expect a dome to be built by Little danny in the future. He can't have Jerry stealing all the spotlight.

My dad knows the chief of security for the stadium, he gave him a JFK Stadium winter jacket. It was too big for him so he gave it to me. My only piece of rare sports collectors items.93henfan wrote:I know Snyder has already discussed a new stadium with DC officials. FedEx has only been open for 13 years.
