I cannot believe no one has posted this yet. What I also cannot believe is that the Yankees are still writing blank checks, then asking the city for another 250 million for stadium this and that. When that stadium is done there will be what, 2 billion???, spent on it?

I don't follow baseball very much, and correct me if I am wrong, but spending that much on a pitcher that pitched a bunch of innings last year, 250??, is a little risky right? I mean if he pitched that much last year one would think that he wouldn't be able to pitch that many again?dbackjon wrote:That is a heck of a lot of money.

CC is a horse, but generally, yes, high innings pitched have a negative effect on a career.grizzaholic wrote:I don't follow baseball very much, and correct me if I am wrong, but spending that much on a pitcher that pitched a bunch of innings last year, 250??, is a little risky right? High-priced free agent bust that the Yankees signed a few years ago.grizzaholic wrote:Help out someone that doesn't watch much baseball AZ, who is Pavano?AZGrizFan wrote:I can't wait to laugh when CC turn into Carl Pavano revisited.

Yankees paid just over $42M for Pavano...and got something like 25 wins out of him over 4 years...grizzaholic wrote:Help out someone that doesn't watch much baseball AZ, who is Pavano?AZGrizFan wrote:I can't wait to laugh when CC turn into Carl Pavano revisited.
That's about $1.68 M per win...not a bad gig if you can get it...
