Re: HS QB dies after throwing TD
What a sad story.
There will be well-meaning idiots who will blame the coaches (you know, the whole "they practiced too long in the heat" mantra) without all the facts. I think the history of seizures just about covers it, if only one will take the time to look at it.
I've been through a major star injury as a coach. The team practically up and quit on us after our star broke his arm on the opening kickoff of one game. The affect of THIS is clearly going to be a whole lot worse. I hope they have grief counselors immediately available; those kids will surely need it. Heck, the coaches, cheerleaders, and parents are going to need them, too. I just hope they can recover to play unless the administration chooses to pull the plug on the season. I can certainly see rationale for that....
Thanks for the post, CatMom. I'll include the family and the team in my prayers today; I'm sure the rest of the board will, too.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
