Werth's press conference was today too. Looked to have about a quarter of the press that attended Lee's.

Welcome to the Natinals, Jayson!!!

And MLB wonders why a regular season NFL game gets better ratings than world series games. Baseball will always suck and be inferior to the NFL until a salary cap is put in place. ƒu*k baseball.
NFL games get high ratings because of fantasy football :twocents:

I rarely watch a game that does not involve the Green Bay Packers until the playoffs, and even then it's just not as exciting as college football.
Well, not so much FF as the actual gambling.

I bought 4 "6-packs" of tickets yesterday. They're apparently flying off the shelves. My "best available" seats for games against even marginal opponents (like the Cubs and Brewers) are in near-nosebleed territory.

I don't get it - I could see buying tickets for next season... Strasburg, Harper, Werth, Zimmerman... there is a core of a great team in there... but not this year... unless this is DC realizing that and wanting to say "i was there BEFORE" they made it... (like the 7400 who showed up for twins games in 99 and 2000 to watch Hunter Koskie Radke and Pierzynski lose most nights)

But you're right, the Natinals aren't going to amount to much next year. And the probably won't contend with a title the year after that (someone's gotta take a sniper to the Phil's pitching for that to happen), but they will improve. They have a core of great young players (you forgot Desmond, Bernardina, Ramos, Clippard, etc.). And they have a BOAT LOAD of money to spend this off-season, next year, the following year, etc. The Lerner's are finally willing to part with some of the billions and billions that they've had stashed away for a while. At least the Nat's are no longer doing their best to imitate the Pirates and are doing something.
