NEW YORK – Tiki Barber and his agent said Tuesday that the former Giants running back has decided to return to the NFL.

"We filed papers for Tiki to come out of retirement" Barber's agent, Mark Lepselter told FOXSports.com. "We filed papers with the commissioner's office and the Giants. And there are interested parties."

Barber, who turns 36 on April 7, retired unexpectedly in 2006 following his third straight Pro Bowl season. From 1997 to 2006, Barber amassed 10,449 yards and 55 touchdowns, both Giants all-time records.

Barber cited his twin brother Ronde, who plays cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as the driving force behind his decision

"After seeing how much fun Ronde is still having it re-ignited my fire and I'm looking forward to the challenge of seeing if I can get back to the level of where I was," Barber told FOXSports.com.

Barber said the next step is for the Giants to activate him, then decide whether to release him or not.

Yes for leaving the mother of his two twin sons something that was done to him and his brother by his father.I seriously doubt the Giants will take him back considering the negative comments he made about the head coach and the starting QB even though he was apart of the media
