Kenneth Faried
Several mock NBA draft boards have the Blazers picking Faried from Morehead State, mainly as a backup to LaMarcus Aldridge at the 4. Blazers are looking back at how many minutes Aldridge played during the year (second to Monta Ellis in the whole NBA last year) and would like to find a quality backup for next season. Supposedly, the Blazers were impressed with Faried last year and would have seriously considered taking him if he would have stayed in the draft. Likewise, Faried, by all accounts, had a great workout with the Blazers yesterday. I caught the post-workout interview and he seems like a nice kid, but coming from an organization that has seen its share of good kids gone bad (Qyntel Woods, Darius Miles), I just was wondering what the overall feeling is from Morehead State fans and Ohio Valley fans about Faried. Being in Portland, I do not see much of Ohio Valley basketball or hear too much of college life at Morehead State. I know he did have an impressive tournament run. So, Faried...good kid or not so good.

I watched Faried play in the OVC tourney - all of the games - I'll say this - you ever watch a college game and see one player so clearly outclass everyone else that it's almost a transcendent experience? that was Faried at Morehead... every ball that hit the rim he was in position for the rebound... he looked - and this is not hyperbole - like Dennis Rodman.JALMOND wrote:Several mock NBA draft boards have the Blazers picking Faried from Morehead State, mainly as a backup to LaMarcus Aldridge at the 4. as for off the court - he seems like a guy whose life could have gone down that road once before - but he chose to not let that happen... that's usually a good sign

Re: Kenneth Faried
Saw him play when Morehead came and played at UNI this year. Dude was a beast. Very, very raw offensively but definitely a great rebounder, and is a really active player.
