There was a lot of talk about Thome & the Phils on sports radio last week, there is definite mutual want there, but that being said I'd be surprised if not one other MLB team put a claim in on him. I'd love to see him as a Phil but my money would be on him staying with the Twins.DJH wrote:Thome placed on trade waivers today. Ken Rosenthal says that the Phillies want him, but he probably wont fall to them.

Back to Indians
)—Jim Thome(notes) has accepted a trade to the Cleveland Indians from the Minnesota Twins.
The Indians are hoping their career leader in home runs can help them catch first-place Detroit in the AL Central.
Thome spent 12 seasons with Cleveland from 1991-2002, hitting a team-record 334 homers. He hit 52 in his final year before signing as a free agent with Philadelphia, a decision that angered many Indians fans.
Earlier this month, Thome became the eighth player in history to hit 600 homers.
The 40-year-old Thome waived a no-trade clause in his contract to clear his return to the Indians, who have been in contention all season but have lost six of their last seven games amid a rash of injuries.

Re: Congrats To Jim Thome
sad day - Thome quickly became one of the most popular Twins (just as happened in almost every market he played in) - sad to see him go, glad to see him return to whence he began.

Good pickup for Cleveland. I hope it doesn't help.
