NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Former All-Star Jose Offerman was sued Thursday for a bat-wielding attack at a minor league game that injured two opposing players.
Bridgeport Bluefish catcher John Nathans is seeking $4.8 million in damages, saying the attack left him with permanent injuries that ended his career.

Re: Offerman sued for minor league bat attack
Haha.
I grew up with John Nathans and played little league with him on my Dad's team. His father is a prominent attorney in my howntown.
He's right to sue, because he was pretty messed up, but the guy was a minor league journeyman that wouldn't have made $200,000 the rest of the his baseball career, let alone, $4.8 million.
