WFA Championship set for Heinz Field

Post by SuperHornet »

Heinz Field, the home of the Blitzburgh Steelers, will host the title game for the Women's Football Alliance (i.e. the OTHER women's football league).

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

The OTHER one? What's the FIRST one? JFC do they scrimmage HS freshman teams or just middle schools?

Why don't you go watch the DC Divas and find out for yourself?

FWIW, there are two major women's football leagues. The one I watch is the Independent Women's Football League, based in Round Rock, TX. They have 30 teams from Seattle to Phoenix on the west coast, from Montreal to Atlanta on the east coast, and major points in between.

The Women's Football Allianc, based in Exeter, CA, has 63 teams across the country, including San Francisco, Dallas, NY, and Miami. Last year, they swiped several teams from the IWFL, including the 2010 IWFL semifinalist Dallas Diamonds. The Miami Fury once had a quarterback who posed for Playboy.

There are a couple of other leagues, but they are not on a par with the IWFL or the WFA.

A bunch of radio DJs got together(Sports Junkies), practiced for 3 months and destroyed the Divas a couple years back. :ohno:

Anita Marks posed for playboy after getting MAJOR plastic surgery. She had a sports talk show here in Baltimore for a couple years. Annoying as hell.
