Another good point. A coach trying to be cutesy with the TO might also wait too long and try to call it after the snap. The result there would be a useless display of rage directed at the line judge that SHOULD be aimed at himself for being stupid....

I see the value in that, but it only works it the kicker thinks you might call a timeout, which means that you have to occasionally call one just to make the threat real.
