Quarterback Evaluation

Post by SuperHornet »

QB A had a 70% completion percentage, a 13-5 TD-INT ratio, and a 104 passer rating.

He got FIRED. How the cr@p does THAT happen?!?

The result was a freaking DOWNGRADE, as his so-called "replacement" only completed 62% of his passes during the regular season, threw fewer TDs, and had a sub-100 passer rating.

That's a screw job rivalling what happened to Bret Hart....

"Because he opens up the offense"

When he gets to whoop on his former team twice a year he can wear that chip on his shoulder, if we didn't have Tannehill I would have loved to have him down in Miami. He had them at 6-2 when he got injured, that's no slouch.

I love SH because he loves so many quarterbacks that other wise go unloved besides by their mothers, or pedicurists.

So a guy who was having what in any other year would be a Pro Bowl season is "unloved?"

Um...V...that was in 8 games. That translates to about 26 over the span of an entire season, which is more than respectable. And the so-called "replacement" only had 10....

Capernick is special. He is a freakin playmaker.

I agree that Alex Smith got a raw deal, but Capernick is just better for the team right now. I wouldn't mind seeing Smith in Philly. He isn't a star, but he is a smart and efficient QB who may do a good job with Philly's weapons.

Alex Smith is making millions wearing a baseball hat when the rest of the team wears helmets. He could also get a super bowl ring out of this gig. And almost certainly get a new multi million dollar contract from another team this off season. Cry me a fucking river Casey.

Honestly, there are any number of NFL teams for whom Smith would be a huge upgrade. Don't think he would fit Kelly's offense very well though, Tanks.

Sign me up! I'd love to get that kind of a "raw deal."

I also think he's their long-term QB. Harbaugh took a shot and regardless of how it turned out this year he was going to come out of the season with a pretty good idea of whether Kapernick was the long-term answer at QB. The answer to that question was yes with the added bonus of playing a QB who puts more pressure on the defense and things turned out pretty well this year.

Smith is a very good QB and a class act. He didn't deserve what happened to him but sometimes life can suck. Harbaugh had to balance loyalty to Smith with playing the QB who gave him a greater chance to win it all this year and finding out who was the future at that position. Smith also owes Harbaugh some thanks for reviving his career and putting him in a position to continue to make millions regardless of where he plays.

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

49ers just have a great situation. Smith is a very good QB, and will get them a huge haul in trade value.

:puke:

What happened to the first 5 years of his career? I think he's more of a system QB than a pure passer. Good thing is we'll most likely get to find out when he's traded. :thumb:

His first five years were spent with a new OC every year. A new OC means a new system. Frequent adjustments of that nature are an invitation to disaster. He was fortunate to see the light at the end of the tunnel...until that ignoramus Harbaugh doused it.

Yet we just saw 3 rookie QBs this year who are all better than Alex Smith. Yeah...I'll pass on the guy.

Jesus fucking Christ, you would be the single most world-class troll if you weren't actually serious. I know it's stupid to even argue this with you, but whatever.

Kaepernick took us to the Super Bowl, and he just might win it. Smith sucked ass in the championship game last year.

Kaepernick has clearly already justified benching Smith in the last two games. He adds more to the offense than Smith ever could.

Kaepernick >>>> Smith.

End of story.

We've been praying for a reason to replace him for years. He's lucky this is basically his last chance to ever get a Super Bowl ring.

Halle-fucking-lujah.
