Pretty good article on everything from Grantland.

Saturday, Sergio and Tiger led the tournament and were paired together in the third round. On the second hole, Sergio was preparing to hit his fairway shot when Tiger, out of sight on the left side of the hole, pulled a 5-wood from his bag. That inspired cheers from the gallery, and while Sergio claimed it was "on top of the backswing," video showed that it happened while he was approaching the ball. He chose not to back off and let the noise die down, and there was relative silence when he swung. Only after the shot turned out poorly did he glance in Tiger's direction with a look of rebuke, and, being Sergio, he complained about it to NBC during a weather delay later in the round:

I wouldn't say he didn't see that I was ready, but you do have a feel when the other guy is going to hit. Right as I was on top of the backswing, he pulled a 5-wood or 3-wood out of the rough and, obviously, everybody started screaming, so that didn't help very much.

There is no way in which Sergio's gripe is not absurd. First, there was no noise when he swung, or even just before. Second, a marshal had told Tiger that Sergio already hit. Third, there was no reason to believe that Tiger could expect cheers to greet him when he pulled a club from his bag. Fourth, even if it was a very minor distraction, is there any benefit to fixating on it? None that I can see, unless you're someone desperately seeking an excuse to lose.

'Gary Anderson, one of the marshals in the group, told SI, "He didn’t ask us nothing, and we didn’t say nothing. We’re told not to talk to the players.”

That might be fairly condemning, but listen to what Anderson's boss said of Tiger after the round.

From the Sports Illustrated report ...

Anderson’s boss, John North, was the chief marshal for the first three holes. He stood over Woods’s ball to protect it from the throng and was five feet away when Woods played his shot. North has worked the tournament as a volunteer marshal for 30 years, he’s a graduate of the Naval Academy, he served in Vietnam, he’s a FedEx pilot and he donates his round on the Stadium course for being a volunteer to the Wounded Warriors project.
“Nothing was said to us and we certainly said nothing to him,” North said. “I was disappointed to hear him make those remarks. We’re there to help the players and enhance the experience of the fans. He was saying what was good for him. It lacked character.”

Again, I've got no problem with what he did but don't act like he didn't know exactly what he was doing. If it was Stricker, a good friend of his, he would've walked the few steps and looked for the shot to be played before doing a damn thing

I'll go UD hat for Montana hat on that one.

Keep in mind I have a size 8 head and only wear flex fit or fitted hats before accepting this challenge.

Tiger a liar?

Imagine that. :coffee:
These signatures have a 500 character limit?

What if I have more personalities than that?

Not true, said Nedrich, of Fleming Island, Fla, and Lance Paczkowski, of St. Augustine, Fla. They told the Times-Union they were within 10 to 12 yards of Woods.

They said there was communication, and that Woods only mistook the sequence of events. Paczkowski, who walked with Woods all 18 holes with a team of escorts, said he even asked Woods if he needed any more fans moved.

"He said, 'No ... I'm good,'" Paczkowski said. "We talk to players all the time, if we need to in regards to their needs and crowd control."

Nedrich, who said he could barely see Garcia, got a glimpse of him swinging, then saw the ball in the air. When fans behind Woods began to stir, Paczkowski, his view of Garcia blocked by bushes, tried to quiet them and said, "the other player (Garcia) hasn't hit yet."

"That's when I yelled back at Lance, 'No ... he's already hit,' " Nedrich said. "Tiger had already taken his club, but we did tell him that Sergio had hit."
