Texas State assistant throws coach Amanda Bingson broke the American hammer record with a toss of 248'5" at the US Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The UNLV grad is now #3 in the world this year after finishing second last year by less than an inch. Two athletes Bingson coaches also did well at the meet.
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
