He doesn't have to listen to a damn word the dispatch says they have no jurisdiction, no power, no police training, no anything. The dispatch isn't supposed to give instructions like that either....AS A MATTER OF FACT they didn't. Never one did they tell him not to follow

Then again why did he call the dispatcher in the first place if he had no intentions of following instructions?????? Again this was a pre-mediated murder that Zimmerman got away with!!!!

You're a determined soul dal, but the forensic evidence shows the shot was fired with Trayvon on top of Zimmerman. Forensic evidence shows the gun was pressed against Trayvon's shirt, but the shirt and gun was not pressed against his body. I'm sure Zimmerman planned to have Trayvon get on top of him before he shot. Neither one of these guys were very smart, just dumb young kids jousting, that turned into a tragedy.

Dispatchers are simply table waiters. They are NOT authority figures. You call, tell them why you called, and they can help you get a policeman, and ambulance, or a fireman.

Maybe this will help: think of the dispatcher as a black servant...he is there to fetch things. He can't give orders.

"dal, I'm thirsty."

"What kind of thirsty, sir?"

"A scratchy throat thirsty. Do you think a glass of wine would do the trick?"

"You don't have to drink that...perhaps a bit of honey tea?"

Now you know damned well that the Master can order and drink his wine and doesn't have to listen to your tea suggestion.

Once again, dal, you are only chained by your mind. No matter how low your IQ, you are still free to make choices...as was Z-da-man!

Hell, you support black people, and whole communities, that don't listen to police officers...yet you expect Zimmy to "obey" the casual suggestion of a $9/hour dispatcher (who is not on the scene to make an informed decision) and who has the authority, and roughly the same brain capacity, of a McDonald's drive-thru worker?

As a dispatcher, I really hate dealing with guys like this. Before he even calls 911 he has this notion that the dispatchers have the same brain capacity as a McDonald's worker. I make a lot more than $9 an hour btw. While you are technically correct that they don't have authority, what they tell you comes from their SOP's, which are written by.... the police. They aren't just making shit up as they go along. This isn't a job you just pull someone off the street and let them answer 911 calls, they are trained you know? Keep in mind that when you dial 911 you are basically saying that whatever situation you are reporting is out of your ability to control. Why in the world would you then not listen to what the dispatcher is telling you to do until the police arrive? This goes for whatever situation comes to mind. I really don't care about or want to get into a Zimmerman discussion, I just don't care about it. I wasn't there that night, I don't know what happened, only Zimmerman knows for sure because the other party is dead. Point being, just listen to a dispatcher when they give you a piece of advice. They are simply trying to give the best possible instructions to ensure the safety of all parties involved.

JFC - can we not turn every thread into a Trayvon/Zimmerhood one?

In a football thread? Nah. Unless it is about gay football players.

Or football players I wish were gay.

Football is gay. All it comes down to is a bunch of big hairy men, with little twinks keeping order, trying to hold onto balls while piling up over and over. There are a few real nut jobs that love to kick balls, they are always made fun of.

Turning to face him, I’m shocked to find he has his erection firmly in his grasp. My mouth drops open.

You do understand the difference between telling a person that they are not to follow someone vs. telling a person that they, "don't need to do that?"

World of difference.

Cripes, dispatchers are supposed to be very clear in their instructions and suggestions...people's lives are at stake. In this case, the dispatcher clearly does not tell Zimmerman NOT to follow.

And I've known three dispatchers...one was a complete fool who got himself in a world of trouble (absolutely hilarious story, by the way - should be made into a movie), another was not the brightest bulb on the tree, and the third...well, I would not want that person making critical decisions for me or my family. Two of the three worked in Delaware...the third in Dallas.

You might be different, there are good/bad apples everywhere, but dispatchers certainly aren't on the top of the pay list, nor are they a boatload of Mensa success stories. :coffee:

Yeah...still waiting to hear how "we don't need you to do that" is a command (which they don't have the power to give mind you, anyway)
