Davis to pitch against Nevada in next game. That will be a great game to see.
I agree, best match-up out there. Best pitcher against the best lineup. I don't think Philly can hit well enough to win so I see Nevada as the favorite, but they're going to have a hard time hitting her. I don't see how Philly beats Nevada if she's not pitching, though, and that could be the case in the US championship game if they both make it that far.

Tomorrow's game is where managers start earning their stripes. Pitch counts - it's all about pitch counts. And you have to try to win games too. If Mon'e throws 51 pitches against NV she can't pitch the US Championship game & if she throws 66 she is done pitching at Williamsport. Same with all the kids. So, do the managers pull kids when they have 20 or so pitches left? You may only see kids throw 3-4 innings until Saturday to keep them eligible.

Word from ESPN is she will be eligible to pitch Saturday if PA beats IL in the survivor game tomorrow.

Japan faces Mexico in the other elimination game with winners headed to Championship Saturday...Takahashi I do not believe will be eligible should the Japanese make it for a rematch with South Korea

Those Korean kids are huge.

Someone should cut down one of those trees and count the rings to make sure their birth certificates match up. :suspicious:

Nevada was very impressive last night. The 1st two kids in their lineup have been taught to hit very well - I kept telling my 9-year old every time they came up to watch those 2 kids hit.

Mone' got hit around last night & ran her pitch count up quickly. She uses the quick pitch very well to keep Little League hitters off balance as they pointed out last night. The kid Nevada brought in to pitch the last 3 innings just blew Taney away - made them look like a bunch of whiny 12 year olds over the last 3 innings. They said he's their #2 pitcher - I'd like to see their ace then...

Nevada will represent the US on Sunday.

No doubt about it. And I think Chicago beats Taney tonight.

This. They've been treating Nevada as if they were the 1980 Soviet Hockey while going up against "urban initiative" Jackie Robinson LL and the team with the greatest female athlete the world has seemingly ever seen.

Sure Davis posted an 7.71 ERA and 3.00 WHIP for the game, but that's still worthy of a national paper headline ahead of the kid from Nevada who had a big RBI to start the game and pitched out of two jams in 3 shutout innings and has arguably been the MVP of the tournament so far. :twocents:

Tall kid from Nevada had the lead, one out and an 0-2 count and he threw 4 straight balls and subsequently walked the next batter which was the last he faced. They brought in a relief pitcher and Illinois took the lead for good. Crazy game.

Illinois has pretty much run out of all their effective pitchers. They're going to need to score a bunch to compete with South Korea who hasn't shown any problems scoring runs.

Good game between two very good teams. Congrats to Illinois. They have represented themselves very well and deserve the US title. With their pitching used up, I think they will need to score a bunch of runs to beat South Korea though.

I don't know if anyone has made this observation yet, but the pitching for Illinois is spent, so I think they will need to score more runs than South Korea to win

Clearly you should not speak of what you do not know about.

Don't you have some crackers and mater sauce to eat?

Yes he probably was I thought that they were going to make a comeback but if that outfielder from South Korea had not made that catch they could have won.The pitcher from South Korea was starting to pitch wildly!!!!

The boys from Chicago went down but not without a fight.
That group of kids represented themselves very well. I saw many good things (athletic and non-athletic) from them the last two weeks. They showed good sportsmanship. Hardly any self-celebration. The pitcher today even met the batter between home and first base to shake his hand after he hit him with a pitch.
If they are truly "urban" kids, then I have hope for the rest of them.

The gooks were beating the crap out of Jackie Robinson. Wasn't as close as the score indicated.

Nevada probably had a better shot...too bad LL rules let a team lose with only one loss in a double elimination tournament. :ohno:
