Wouldn't he already have the tickets in hand? So how exactly would he be prevented from entering the stadium? Also why should the season ticket holder be punished for selling his ticket to a 3rd party?

Season ticket holders have been responsible for what has happened in their seats in the past and I assume it is part of their contract to get the season tickets.

Assume they can do something if the barcode is scanned to notify that it is a bad ticket and they will likely be keeping an eye on the seats to see if they are taken (though I get that that is less likely since people have been known to sit in unoccupied seats before)
