1. Julius Thomas, TE, DEN. Running his mouth on the Jets defense. "It's so [bleep]ing easy!" to score on the Jets.

2. Vontaze Burfict, LBer, CIN. Channeling his inner Kurt Angle following TDs by Carolina QB Cam Newton and TE Greg Olsen. I didn't see much on the Newton TD, but it was quite blatant on the Olsen TD. Leaning back for more leverage, no less. Big fines coming here, I think....

Some fines about to be handed out

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

with all the microphones that are around an NFL game these days, I could see them instituting a punitive fine system to dissuade swearing. (not sure if the networks are subject to FCC fines for such violations.)tribe_pride wrote:Yeah. I am not sure how that one is a fineBrock Landers wrote:

There have been multiple lawsuits filed against the fcc by networks and the fcc has lost them all due to the vague nature of their rules

Did CBS get away with WardrobeGate at the Super Bowl? I forget....clenz wrote:No.JayJ79 wrote: with all the microphones that are around an NFL game these days, I could see them instituting a punitive fine system to dissuade swearing. the FCC tried to fine CBS 550K.SuperHornet wrote:Did CBS get away with WardrobeGate at the Super Bowl? I forget....clenz wrote: No.

CBS filed suit for the same reason Fox did just a couple years earlier (it was unintentional and the rules are vague about that) and won (like FOX) which voided the fine.
There was an appeal that went through in 2011 that sent the case to the third circuit court to be reheard. The third circuit court affirmed the initial ruling

Re: Some fines about to be handed out
Burfict drew a $25K fine with NO suspension. Of course, he's going to appeal. As a repeat offender with PLENTY of documentary footage, he doesn't have a "leg" to stand on.

Say what?!? Jimmy Graham got $30K for dunking over a goal post during a pre-season game. One wonders where the League's priorities are, and that's not even factoring in the Rice scandal. Roger Goodell is about as bad as the NCAA when it comes to this trash, if not worse....
