Non-story - the only part that was tax exempt was the league offices, and that was not worth the negative publicity to stay tax exempt. Pretty much a move to avoid headlines that mislead readers into thinking NFL owners and players are making millions and paying nothing in taxes.

Is the NCAA Taxable?
In any case, and extra 10 million in taxes may help get "Going To The Sun Highway" plowed a bit earlier each year so I guess I'm for it!

Re: NFL giving up Tax Exempt Status
Last I have seen, the NFL (the tax exempt entity) has more expenses than revenue so the government will not see any additional monies due to this. In fact, the NFL may be able to carry over its losses so that if it makes money some years, it can deduct the previous losses from the income.
Note for all who are about to complain that each of the teams in the NFL is where almost all of the revenue currently is distributed have to pay taxes.

This will cost the NFL about $10 Million a year.
But, they no longer will be subject to Non-Profit reporting, so they won't have to disclose Baddell's salary anymore.
