I like how you copped out of the argument because I disproved every one of your claims that adding Elton Brand and Dahntay Jones makes the Mavs a western contender.

LOL. Odoma has nothing left. It's cool. You know zero about basketball. Odom couldnt beat anyone off the dribble 3 years ago. He benefited from the Lakers post players.rkwittem wrote:Yeah and no PFs can guard him because of his ball-handling skills. I'd rather have a Lamar Odom as my 3rd big than Elton Brand. Ok...and the Clippers have 2 decent bigs and an All-Star PG. Sounds like the Odom Lakers team to me. Here's guessing he will play much better in LA. He'll be much more comfortable in LA and his family life should be better. That matters, no matter what you want to pretend.eagleskins wrote:LOL. Odoma has nothing left. It's cool. Are you really telling me that Odom can't beat Dirk or Elton Brand off the dribble? I don't care if you hate Odom, he's still better than most of the backup PFs in the NBA. I'd take him on my team in a heartbeat.
Dahntay Jones and Elton Brand will allow a team with an old star to contend said no one ever. Who's Dallas' 2nd-best player? Shawn Marion? Darren Collison? Chris Kaman?
Yeah, good luck with that.

Were you not alive in 2011 when Dallas won the title? The Mavs beat the freaking Miami Heat with Tyson Chandler, Shawn Marion, and JJ Barea.rkwittem wrote:eagleskins wrote:

Again. You know zero about basketball. Clippers don't have a post player that would ever command a double team. Of course I was. You forgot quite possibly the 2nd most important non-Dirk player in the whole deal- Jason Terry. He was HUGE for them. Dahntay Jones and Elton Brand won't provide even half of what JT did for them.DJH wrote:Were you not alive in 2011 when Dallas won the title? But they do command attention or they will score on lay-ins and on offensive rebounds. Odom can survive in that kind of situation. He's a perimeter guy and he doesn't need a post to command a double team. Opponents won't be able to double their bigs because they have to account for Chris Paul and whatever other shooter they have on the floor with him.eagleskins wrote:Again. I'd wager that Odom will outproduce Brand this year, and that the Clips will out-win the Mavs. I restate my originial point: Dallas will be lucky to win 50 games in the west. I never said they won't make the playoffs but they won't be a contender. They'll be another team like Utah the past couple of years. OK, not great, but closer to mediocre than good.
Don't get mad at me because I don't think a washed-up, injury-prone PF and a career backup SG added to Darren Collison and Chris Kaman makes the Mavs a contender. You roster would be good...if it was 2002.

LOL. Jason Terry is a black hole. Doesn't play any defense. Can't shoot to save his life, and will force shots to make a point. Please stop posting about basketball. Terry was the biggest sieve on the Mavs the last 5 years.rkwittem wrote:Of course I was. You forgot quite possibly the 2nd most important non-Dirk player in the whole deal- Jason Terry. Can't take any credit for the term "fatty" in regards to Felton. Just repeating what has been said last season by the Portland media. It is quite funny, but true.dal4018 wrote:Agreed Thomas,Kidd are both pushing 40 and Felton you describe as fatty you must hand it to the Knicks.rkwittem wrote:![]()

Wolves looking at Kirilenko and possibly trading Wes Johnson to Phoenix in a 3 way trade, to make room.
Kirilenko indicated he may want to play with Russian teammate Alexey Shved, who recently signed with Minnesota.

This would be the whopper of the summer:
Howard & Harrington to LAL
Iguodala to DEN
Bynum to PHL
Gasol & Arrafalo to ORL
If I'm the Sixers, do this deal NOW!!!!

LUV the deal for the Sixers!!!
Best big man in the East & shed the Iggy contract too!!!
We still won't compete with the Heat but should win the Atlantic finally now.

Nobody can touch the Heat in the East. But I'm not ready to concede the West to LA yet, however. OKC is really fuckin good. While LA has one of the more appealing starting lineups ever "on paper", at the present moment, it has yet to be seen how well it will work. Plus, they are pretty old with Kobe and Nash in their backcourt.

OKC will still be tough in the West, the East depends on how beat-up D-Wade gets.

No, like someone already said, the Thunder are still really good. Don't forget that they still have Kendrick Perkins to deal with Howard, a role he is used to after dealing with Dwight when they met as members of the Celtics and Magic, respectively. I wouldn't call him Dwight's kryptonite (some Collins guy has good defensive numbers against Howard, can't recall their first name), but he can hang with Howard as a defender. Plus, KD and Westbrook still surpass what's left of Nash and Kobe at this point, IMO.AZGrizFan wrote:Can we just mail in the season and let the Lakers and Heat play for the finals?
