I find baseball brawls to be one of the most ridiculous and childish things in sports. Really, the ball was pitched inside or, god forbid, you get hit by a pitch, and that justifies storming out to the mound and throwing punches? And then everyone comes running in, including the bullpens? Baseball players never come off well in these things, they just look even more petulant than they actually are (which is saying something, because baseball players, as a whole, are pretty petulant).

Don’t forget the unwritten rules, hit one of ours, we hit one of yours, plus too many others to mention here.

Well that brawl was caused from a spikes high slide. Chipper Jones had a great tweet about it. They've played that way for decades, it's part of the game. The Yankee kid should've just taken it in the shoulder & gone to 1st.

You should always "take it" and go to first. There's never ever a situation in baseball that justifies storming the mound to engage in a brawl. None. Zero. Just play the game because, well, it's a game.

I would say, charge the mound if it goes at or behind your head. That pitch has meaning, and it's a dangerous pitch.

I think you are wrong. And you clearly don't know the history that lead up to this event.
I heard that a player, can't remember who, is on the DL because of broken elbow from a recent HBP. Not sure of the details, but if that was intentional, and you were the batter, would you be pissed off?
Name a sport that doesn't have fights.......besides tennis.

And golf.
I think all fights in sports are stupid and childish. Really, can't control your anger enough that you can't stop yourself running 60 ft to slam into someone because something bad happened? And guys running 300+ feet in from the bullpen, running alongside guys from the other's team bullpen who you're about to fight, is just silly. These aren't teenagers, these are adults, and it's a game, so get over it. Fights in sports are almost always stupid. Grow up.
