Strange strike zone tonight. Bad ball/strike calls have gone both ways.

Apparently Durbin didn't get the memo about throwing Ross fastballs over that part of the plate. Come to think of it, I don't think anyone on the Phillies pitching staff has seen that memo. :ohno:

Another important baseball game, and another blown call. :ohno: :ohno: Stupid baseball people just can't figure it out.

Luckily Pablo bailed 'em out and got another hit anyway.

I've been complaining about the extra umpires for years. Every year they blow at least one call like that. They are there to make 2 calls: 1) fan interefence/home run calls and 2) fair/four calls and they seem to always get the important ones wrong. MLB should be embarrased, but Bud Selig knows no shame. :ohno:

One of the announcers compared Posey to Mauer. I like Posey's hitting style better. Mauer hits too many grounders to the 1st and 2nd basemen.

I agree, Mauer sucks.

Big double play ball there. Lets hope the Phils can get some offense going. Maybe they can score some runs off of the Giants pitcher who looks like Wooly Willy.

Yup, but terrible hitting with a runner on second and no outs after the game was tied. The Phils are lucky to be tied right now, the Giants seem like the better team at the moment.

Runner was probably safe, but great effort by Uribe.

Oswalt will probably only throw 1 inning, 2 at the most. This is his in between starts "throw day", I'm sure Charlie won't over use him because he needs him to start game 6 (if there is one ;) ).

I honestly didn’t expect the Phils to lose this series. It’s all but over now.

It's not over yet.

Marine General Chesty Puller in Korea, when provided intelligence that the Chinese had jumped in to the conflict and he was outnumbered eight to one at the Chosin Reservoir remarked, "We're surrounded. That simplifies the problem." In the dead of one of the worst winters on record, with temperatures down to 40 below, and weather cutting off all air support, his 1st Marines decimated 10 Chinese infantry divisions and fought back to the sea to rejoin American forces.

Go Phillies.

Can't believe I stayed up to watch that. I knew all night it was not going to go our way. :(

It sucks when you know you have an early morning but you make a command decision to just be tired the next day and your team blows it anyway. Manuel really made some questionable decisions last night. I've tried to defend him, and it's pretty easy when you have 97 wins, a couple trips to the WS and a ring, but last night was pretty inexcusable. Not having Rollins just bunt Werth over in whatever late inning that was with no outs was a real head scratcher.

Yup, but I guess that's being a fan. My decision to stay up requires me to stay in the rec room in a wooden rocking chair. If I try to watch from bed or even the couch, I'm out by the 7th.

Well, on the bright side, if the Phils and Halladay can beat Lincecum tonight, they bring the Giants back East and anything can happen in the last two games. Mighty big hill to climb beating Lincecum in SF, but it's possible.
