And the axe has now fallen. A listless 42-7 loss will do that to you. :coffee:

Worldwide Leader says Eagles contacted Chip Kelly, but talks not going anywhere. Then contacted Bill Cowher who wasn't receptive to returning. Third choice is O'Brien. Then a bunch of NFL assistants.

I hope Kelly comes around. Show him the money!

Nothing wrong with NFL assistants. Kelly could end up being like a Nick Saban and running back to college once he realizes you just can't stockpile talent to win. Cowher probably realizes it took him 14 years to win the Big one and he probably wouldn't have 14 years to do that again this time around. If he came back he'd probably only hurt his legacy. Big name coaches coming back only guarantee big time contracts - heck, Joe Gibbs couldn't even win when he came back and he was always a vastly better coach than Cowher.

I say go with a Jay Gruden or the off coordinator from the Broncos and go from there. Reid was just an obscure QB's coach when Lurie plucked him out of where he was to be the coach - and for many years that was a successful ploy. I say do it again.

What a turn of events for our household. The Eagles look worse than the Zorn Redskins and suddenly the Redskins are unbeatable.

You'll find out how beatable the Redskins are soon. They may actually beat the Seahawks at home, but that'll be it.

I'm not sure they beat the Seahawks - no one's coming in hotter to the playoffs than the Seahawks are and Washington has to run the ball to be successful and I don't think they can run it against the Seahawks. Redskins had a nice year, but the Eagles were putrid, the Giants were scattered, and the Cowboys just suck like they always do. Nothing pretty about the NFC East this year and the Skins look to be a one and done team.

Neither played a really tough schedule down the stretch but the Skins won 7 in a row, the Seahawks 7 of 8. Not sure I'd say no one.

Show me a win the Skins had that was as eye-opening as the win the Seahawks had against the Niners and they points they put up on that defense.

Not encouraged when I hear the Eagles want to interview Mike Nolan. Friday is when everything will heat up - after the Fiesta Bowl.

That's changing the subject a little. That was an impressive win, but your claim was no one is coming in hotter. The Skins were in playoff mode since the bye week.

BTW, the Rams had the 49ers number too. Doesn't prove much.

For the record, I think Seattle wins Sunday. I believe they ousted the Skins the last two times the Skins made the playoffs.

Reid looking at relocating in Phoenix.

Can't say as I blame him, gotta be nicer digs than Philly.

Depends on your definition of nice. It's not like Reid was living in the Kensington ghetto. He had a mansion out on the main line.

I've spent quite a bit of time in/around Phoenix. It's nothing to write home about. Hot as balls in the summer. Gravel and scrub for a lawn. Meh. Give me woods, green grass, and four seasons. :thumb:

I've heard that his wife has a bunch of family in Phoenix which is a big factor.

I think Arizona may actually be a great fit for Andy. They already have a quality D so he can't mess that up too much. They were terrible at QB, which is Andy's speciality. If nothing else Andy can develop and coach QB's, and at least get their offense to respectable.

Lots of talk about Bill O'Brien to Philly.

And Buffalo supposedly. There will be a lot of extra eyes on tonight's Fiesta Bowl.

For all the Chip Kelly talk don't discount Bill O'Brien out of the running. All kinds of rumors with him, he wants out of PSU, he's trying to parlay NFL interviews with a raise for him & his staff to stay at PSU, he won't take the Eagles job because Belicheck badmouthed Howie Roseman to him, it goes on & on.

Welcome to the Philly media....

The Seahawks are the last team I want my Skins to play in the playoffs. Solid defense and Beast Mode in the back field.

To this thread topic, is Rich Kotite still out there?
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

Angelo has just been busy railing on Roseman, not stepping too far into bias towards a new coach yet.

Weird that the last two Eagles coaches to be fired, Kotite and Ray Rhodes, were hired by other teams right away. Both went on to suck tremendously with the Jets and Packers respectively. Perhaps Andy will follow in their footsteps.

Kotit is apparently with NFL films and the NFL network, but I never watch either.

Once is a while I think "I wonder that that idiot Angelo is saying about ..." but I can never bring myself to tune it.
