So I decided to take a look at the stats.

Before looking, the first fact is that he is obviously facing a good team.

2019: Gave up 4 runs and 3 runs. His team scored 3 runs and two runs respectively.
2017: Gave up 2 runs. His team scored 1 run. Gave up 3 runs in a no-decision. His team won 7-6.
2012: Gave up 5 runs. His team scored 3 runs.
2006 (Rookie Year): Gave up 6 earned and 1 earned. His team scored 2 runs in both losses.

Interestingly, he never lasted more than 6 innings in his 7 WS starts.

So to answer your question.........................I don't know.

Has there EVER been a World Series that went to 7 games where the home teams went 0-7??

Nope, and there has not been one real close game at the end. Astros couldn’t get it done. Don’t see how Nats could have won without Bryce Harper.

In PR and these awesome people found a Reddit stream to play the game at their bar. Best bartenders ever...also this place deserves to be a state. Also F*CK Dish...they blacked it out cause they're trying to extort the island for more since they have a monopoly here. No reason people here should be streaming the god damn world series off Reddit. Peeps here deserve better.

Got Nats!!!

Well, punch it in, and see what happens. Looks like the poll may be still open.

Is Scherzer well enough to start game 7 if necessary? The Big Mennonite is starting tonight.
Well if this isn't the sh!t. Thanks for the advice IT!

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

De nada. I had the number of games right, but not the result.

You'd have been really going out on a limb choosing the Nats in 7. How do you not choose the Astros to win a game 7 at home with that pitching staff? But this is baseball, so the most likely outcome is the one most likely not to happen, in comparison to other sports.

Couple of thoughts:
1. Great Series. Not sure if the game-by-game and inning-by-inning plot twists could have been written any better.
2. WTF Gomes? You can't leave your pitcher hanging after strike three to end the WS. He turned around and delayed the meeting on the mound. He barely beat the bench. :ohno: :ohno: The pitcher-catcher embrace is the money shot to end a series, especially after a strikeout.
3. The Nationals radio call of the win was brutal. He repeated "Remember Where You Are" in a very awkward fashion several times. It's like he prepared it but botched the call.

So I found this video of the final outs of the WS since 1980. Holy crap I forgot about the very first one. I remember saying the same thing back then that I did last night. But I remember reading later that Boone was waiting on Schmidt. But that is bad optics.

Anyway, most of the strikeout-ending celebrations are as they should be. There are a couple of weird ones like Lidge going to his knees and the guy from SF turning his back to the catcher.

Wow. Congrats Nats.

Yesterday I noticed a lot of Houston Astro gear being worn on the train. This morning...not so much.

As fate would have it, Wednesday not only brought Game 7 between the Nats and Astros but also the Capitals’ annual Halloween party, so the 2018 NHL champs were already in a festive mood well before Daniel Hudson got the final out at Houston’s Minute Maid Park.

But that magical moment brought the Caps’ revelry to a new level. Champagne was sprayed, “Baby Shark” was everywhere and a replica (we have to assume it was a replica, anyway) of the World Series trophy made its way into Ovi’s hands.
So 89Henette was at the bar where the Caps party was last night. Got her picture with Nick Backstrom, her favorite player, she wore 19 when she played in HS because of him. Caps were HUGE supporters of the Nats this year. Ovi threw out a first pitch I think in the Dodgers series which started their run of 8 wins in a row. Lots of love between the two teams.
