Looks like Ben Simmons is melting down with all the angry messages he has been sending out.

Safe to say Blazers are in full-tanking mode now?

They actually were when Lillard opted for surgery. Blazers now have options moving forward. They are now in position to retain both Nurkic and Simons this offseason if they so choose, or they can go after better options if they are available. They are "building around Lillard". How long that will take (and what exactly that will look like) is up in the air.

Pelicans look like they got the better of that deal.

And the Clippers got the better of the Powell deal. But the Blazers now have flexibility to try and build around Lillard, starting in the offseason. If it fails, so what. At least they can finally say they tried all avenues in getting Lillard a championship in Portland.

Glad they are building around Lillard, great player, and from what I hear, a decent rapper.

I like it. I like it a lot. The two first round picks don't matter (unprotected this year, which will be very late first round, and the second one is a protected pick in 2027). Simmons was never playing here again and was a baby. Curry is redundant with Harden, so really it's just losing Drummond. They need to get a good back up center, I don't think Paul Reed is enough. Paul Milsap is coming over to the Sixers in the trade too, but obviously not a center. Of course, this is just a regular season concern, backup center is getting less than 10 minutes come playoff time.

Harden gives the Sixers a go to guy to go along with Embiid in the 4th quarter, that's where they've had issues. You need more than one option and now you have it.

And the Sixers didn't need to give up the kids in Thybulle and Maxey. All good.

Should be good for both teams. Morey is familiar with Harden; Nets get a defender and facilitator, and could get lucky in the draft.

Can we just hand the title to the Suns this year and skip the playoffs?

I'm sure that would be an easier path to the title rather than having to beat Golden State and then whomever comes out of the East in best of 7 series. Not exactly a quick and easy path to the title. If I had the Suns and the rest of the field, the rest of the field is still the better bet.

Suns looked a little lost out there without Paul. Maybe we should just give it to the Pelicans.

Warriors looked pretty much unstoppable and they aren't playing Green or Iguodala.

Lol. The horror…they lost a game! He’ll be back for the playoffs. Don’t be fooled. Tell me another team that loses their starting point guard and doesn’t miss a beat?

And the warriors? The same team that’s lost 4 of their last 6?

I’ll take some of what you’re smoking.

This is regular season NBA basketball. It's nice and all, but the playoffs are and always have been different. No one is saying the Suns aren't the best team in the NBA right now, of course they are. Come playoffs, though, and the gap gets erased pretty quickly, and there are other teams with other players who have a better track record in that scenario.

Sixers look like they're going to be a threat, assuming everyone stays healthy. Harden looks like he's thrilled to be in Philly, Embiid is putting the finishing touches on what should be the MVP this season, and young Maxey is looking more and more like a future stud every game, and seems to fit in perfectly with Harden. Sixers were already playing like they were out to prove that they didn't need Simmons, now adding Harden just gives them one more axe to grind. As long as Embiid and Harden stay healthy, they're going to be a real hard team to knock off in a best of 7.

FYP, he might be the leading contender but he has competition.

Rarely do we have runaway MVP's. Even Jordan didn't win it every year. Morant is certainly in the discussion, among others. Harden brings a lot more attention to Philly over the stretch run so we'll see where things land.

 Jokic, DeRozan, and Giannis in addition to Morant are strong contenders and would be deserving if they won.
