Did they add 1 minute from the 30 minutes of extra time or just from the last 15?

Re: US SOCCER
That extra time was the best soccer this tournament so far. Especially after Belgium scored the second goal, US went into desperation mode and suddenly got 10x faster. If soccer had more games like this one, I could definitely see me getting into it. Excellent WC USA!

Re: US SOCCER
I lay the blame on #5 on the 2 goals. He got his arse run over by #9 for Belgium who went on a fast break with the ball and had the assist on the 1st goal. Then #5 got beat by #9 who scored the 2nd goal for Belgium.DSUrocks07 wrote:Defenders are letting us down big time, they're getting beat on basic 1-on-1 moves, maybe its endurance but they look awful out there.

Both of those plays were in extra time. At what point did #9 come in? Wasn't it 2nd half?MSUDuo wrote:At that point it was 90 minutes played verses 0. Besler had a hell of a tournament and will be playing in Europe this time next yearBDKJMU wrote:

Lokuku, #9, came on at the beginning of extra time. So technically at 91'.BDKJMU wrote:Both of those plays were in extra time. At what point did #9 come in? Completely agree on the second goal. He showed no sense of urgency getting back and allowed himself to get beat.BDKJMU wrote:I lay the blame on #5 on the 2 goals. Re: US SOCCER
Caught bits and pieces of the game. Saw some of the first half and Belgium was dominating. Figured it would be a rout. Then it crept into over time...err extra time...eerr fuck whatever its called and Belgium scored quickly then everyone knew it was over. Then another goal then it was a fact it was over. Then a cool US goal and there was a sliver of hope. Then that excellent set piece off the free kick that was blown to tie the game (I heard there was a missed 4 footer late in regular time). That frantic/desperate play in over time was fun to watch, where the fuck was that at the 80-90 minute mark? Then that feeling of US getting knocked out of the WC in the round of 16 sunk in that goes away a minute or 2 after it happens.
Hats of to USA, I didn't expect them to get out of the group stage so they exceeded my expectations. US seems to be making strides in soccer which is nice. Means the excuse to day drink on a weekday will be in play in the future.
That said, see you in 4 years soccer. I'll probably use some of the qualification games as an excise to drink but other than that no real reason to give a damn about this sport until WC time. Thanks for the entertainment, and effort team USA.

Re: US SOCCER
Just a fantastic game to watch - kudos to the team for putting in a fantastic effort. I don't know if there's ever been a more exciting extra period like what they played in this one. That designed play on the free kick that got Dempsey free with the ball in front of the goal was quality stuff. Just got done reading the BBC, they couldn't be more gaga over the US performance. Partly because their team sucks now. Great game in what's been a fantastic tournament.
Quarterfinals starting Friday are great games - Brazil/Columbia pits Neymar against Rodriguez, France/Germany is just epic, Netherlands/Costa Rica is the power versus the plucky underdog, and then Belgium/Argentina is great just because we get to see Messi again. Just a super tournament.
