Huge series against the A's this weekend. Need the bats to come alive again and support that best-in-MLB pitching.

Stanton was hit in the face by a pitch in Milwaukee tonight. Taken off the field and to the hospital in an ambulance. Doesn't look good.
There goes our season and his MVP chances.

Having a son who's skull was fractured by a pitch, it absolutely turns my stomach to watch that Stanton AB tonight. And fucking ESPN kept showing it OVER and OVER and OVER.DSUrocks07 wrote:Stanton was hit in the face by a pitch in Milwaukee tonight. Taken off the field and to the hospital in an ambulance. Angels "touched" "the best pitching staff in baseball" (or so I hear) for 8 runs last night. Became 1st team to clinch playoff spot....

After 3 walk-off losses in the last 5 games, the Yankees are officially done.
A valiant effort though with only one decrepit starting pitcher and an anemic offense.

Mariners appear to be shitting the bed. I guess it was nice having a reason to follow baseball past June again.

Mariners? How about the A's?Grizalltheway wrote:Mariners appear to be shitting the bed. I guess it was nice having a reason to follow baseball past June again.
Would love to see KC get in.And then there's the Oakland A's. The A's held a 6 game lead in the AL West on June 21. They maintained a 4 game lead in the West as recently as August 10. By last Friday, they trailed the Angels in the West by 11 games. The A's are working on a historic collapse.
At the lowest of their low, the A's had lost 25 of their previous 40 games and most recently lost series to the lowly Astros and White Sox. After getting beaten by Seattle on Friday night, they were hanging onto a Wild Card spot by a half game over the Mariners. With a loss to the Mariners and King Felix on Saturday, they would have been out of a playoff spot completely. With two weeks to go, the A's lead the Royals by a single game for the top Wild Card spot and the Mariners--after losing to the Angels last night--still trail them by only 3 games.
