Yeah, you get the feeling that if they lose Game 6, they would lose Game 7. And that shot off the post in OT may have been the difference in the series. 1 inch may have been the difference.89Hen wrote:Well that was fun. Caps had no business being in that game through two periods and pulled out the win. That was the complete opposite of past years. Still feel they need to win Game 6 to win the series. Don't want this going 7.
Caps had to beat not only the Pens, not only the referees, but I'm not sure I've seen a more poorly officiated game from the linesmen. I have no idea if they track how many players get kicked out of the faceoff circle over the course of the game, but by my estimate it was Caps 37 - Pens 0. They also called three mystery offsides at very crucial times.
Paging baldy.
Great game winning goal by the Caps.

I don't expect to see baldy around a hockey thread for another 11 months. Heck, if the Pens were to not make the playoffs we may never see him again.

No offense, but meh. Not the same. We know all Tampa fans are bandwagon fans. In years when they're no good they are consistently in the bottom half of the league in attendance.SunCoastBlueHen wrote:I'll go ahead and step in to fill the void.89Hen wrote:I don't expect to see baldy around a hockey thread for another 11 months. Well this is the first time I've paid attention to hockey my whole life, so I'm more bandwagon then the rest of the bandwagoners.89Hen wrote:No offense, but meh. Not the same. I can even name like four or five guys on the team now.

Will Winnipeg break the streak and be the first Canadian team in like 25 years to win the Cup?

I'm thinking the Russian mob has something to do with Tampa's performance, or lack thereof....

Re: 2018 NHL Thread
Bobby Hull is pretty good guy to talk to. Their Goalie, Joe Daley, has a memorabilia shop in Winnipeg and I went to a North Stars Stanley Cup finals game with son his Travis. I also met the Dale Hawerchuk version of the Jets in the early 1980's. They played an exhibition in Fargo, and I won a drawing at Chub's Pub to have Beer and Brats with the Jets. Got to walk around, sit and talk to most of the players, mostly with Dave Babych. Pretty good bunch of guys.Ivytalk wrote:Gil Dobie wrote:J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

On a buying trip with Mr Mint, Alan Rosen, to Winnipeg, a guy walked in with a Stanley Cup Press Ribbon, from Winnipeg's 1901 or 1902, Stanley Cup Champions. Heard a lot of stories about Terry Sawchuk as a young, playing all day on the local rinks and not giving up a goal. Great Hockey town with a rich history.

This game was really 6-0. Neither Caps penalties that led to the Lightning goals were legit.
