Wasn't sure where to put this, but holy shit this is ugly.

And, maybe I was wrong about soccer trying to appeal to the NASCAR lovin' crotchety old man demographic... looks like a NASCAR kit.

Some of the kit's I've seen for this year.

Aresenal - hideous. Perfectly fits the fucking gooners
Image

West Ham United - not too bad
Image
Image

Sunderland - pretty nice
Image

Real Madrid - fuck Real
Image

Chelski - fuck the blues...but nice jersey
Image

Newcastle - not good but not the worst
Image

My Tottenham Hotspur haven't released their official kits yet, but there are a lot of leaks on what they likely are and the vast majority of the fan base hates the home kit. They call it "too American" because of the "flash" of it, the red logo (red doesn't sit with because of the Gooners and Liverpoop clubs).
Image

The away kit is better and isn't drawing as much hatred - though no one seems to be a big fan
Image

The phrase "Yellow streaks of piss - CL, here we come" has been used a couple times with the kits.

Kit?

Do you have to use all the bullshit jargon to be a real soccer fan?

I'm a Spurs fan too - can't for the life of me understand the need to go with yellow all of a sudden. And yes, the red in the logo on the white shirts is just not right.

I get the yellow, it has a long history with the club (I had to ask about it at first as well but when explained it made sense). I believe the club wore yellow in 09 when they were in the CL.

I would love to see Tottenham stick with a more traditional look....say the 2011/2012

Going with the supposed away but in all white

The supposed 3rd kit

The photoshop/mock ups that fans did were infinitely better than the reported kits though

There is an article that came out in the UK today about the number of Spurs fan in Asia, and how important they are to the growth of the Spurs (the the BPL in general). There are an estimated 3 million Spurs fans in the UK with another 179 million across the world - most in Asia. That's why the went win an Asian sponsor and a more "Asian" design. The color red is lucky in Asian cultures as well, which is why it was apparently kept on the home kit logo.

Another article (maybe it was the one I posted) said that 3.7 billion people (half of the population of Earth) watched the BPL last season, with 1.4 billion from Asia alone. Seems like catering to the Asian market for a short time, especially if the team can get to the CL, is the "right call"

Congratulations to Germany on the win over Brazil.

Well, there's technically over 60 minutes left, but three goals already.

Yikes, Germany just running clear in wide open spaces. This is looking like a Delaware/Delaware St games, and those are typically over just soon after the opening whistle.

4-0 now. Yikes, a blood bath. The crowd scenes are awful, some people are just bawling.

Haven't seen Germany roll over someone like this since 1939.

Makes the 1-0 loss the USA had to Germany look down right miraculous.

On the bright side, Klose got his 16 world cup goal and is now the all-time leading goal scorer in World Cup history.

Nah, 1940. The Poles got run over in '39, France fell like rag doll in '40.
