Tis true though. It's nice making the playoffs almost every year (something like last 8 of 9 years) but would also be nice if they ever ever ever ever ever ever played a meaningful game in June. Oh well.

You're trying to troll but it doesn't appear to be working. Who do you have beating Pittsburgh in the finals, for the record?
I'm sure Cit will be cheering for the Blues. Horrible match-up for St. Louis though. Pens in 5 or 6 if that series ever happened.

To a degree you are right about the team falling apart but with the exception of a handful of teams in each sport, you can probably say the same about any team's fan ("How a fan keeps coming back"). You are not a real fan if you don't keep coming back.

As for the bell curve, where we are on the curve is still much higher than before Ovi came to the area. Hardly knew a person who had even a passing interest in going to a game or following the Caps pre-Ovi. Now, there is a lot of discussion and interest even if it isn't what it was 3-4 years ago.

It's painful 93. I almost passed out last night from HBP. I may have to quit watching.

On a positive note, at least it didn't go multiple overtimes.

In 2000 I stayed up for all five overtimes in the infamous Flyers-Pens OT game and if Keith Primeau hadn't won that game and the Pens had, I would have contemplated suicide. You just don't want to watch a seven hour loss.

I was thinking the same at the time but Pens penalties put the Caps right back in this. Last delay of game was close but tough to argue real time where it went over and a linesman is right there so he probably saw where it went over.

Huge choke if the Pens lose this one.

In the end, the Pens were the hottest team coming into the playoffs and have continued to play extremely well so far. I wouldn't be surprised to see them sweep Tampa or win 4-1. Caps made it a good series losing 2 in OT and losing the other 2 games by 1 goal.

In the West, Blues at Stars tonight and Predators @ Sharks tomorrow - both Game 7s. Central is a good division but the Pacific is horrible right now. Dallas/St. Louis winner should cruise their way to the finals to meet the Penguins. Kind of rooting for the Blues so this guy stays interested - https://twitter.com/soIoucity?ref_src=twsrc^tfw

Agreed, dude made an insanely miraculous, albeit futile, save on that one.

Yeah, it's funny how the end result cements the memory. Had the Caps won the game, the series, and the Cup, that freeze frame might have been the model for a statue on the street outside Verizon Center.

St. Louis destroyed Dallas in Game 7 6-1 on only 19 shots. Will play tomorrow's Nashville-San Jose winner.

That win saved Hitch's job for sure.

Pittsburgh DOMINATES Tampa for the second game in a row. The Bolts have got a lot of work to do between now and Friday night if they expect this series to make it back to Tampa for a game 6.
