The Phils 9th last night was absolutely brutal. Bases loaded and none out, and I told my wife that we wouldn't score. Force at the plate and 2 Ks later, I was right. Phils are headed toward a record for man-on-third-with-less-than-2-out scoring futility.

Tomorrow night, I'm going to my first Blue Rocks game in about 2 years. They suck too, but my expectations are lower, and they're a cheap night out.

My guess is that most of the R Nats fans are holdover Sens fans from the Nixon era: Frank Howard, Mike Epstein, Brant Alyea, Eddie Brinkman, Dick Bosman, Camilo Pascual, the young Del Unser, Paul Casanova, Joe Coleman, Ken McMullen. That '69 Sens team wasn't bad.

The ONLY thing positive to come out of the weekend was Thome's 100th homerun for the Phils. Fourth person to hit 100 HRs for 3 different clubs and is now one behind Sosa on the all time HR list.
