That was silly. I watched the top of the 9th live, but had to pick up Jr so I recorded the rest because I had a feeling it was going to end that way. Fuck the Yankees and their fans, but that was cool.clenz wrote:I despise all the media attention he's gotten (not him... You were supposed to say "times 27". That's what Jolting Josephine would have said.CAA Flagship wrote:93henfan wrote:

Can't believe they didn't do a tribute to the trail of pussy he's left behind. That's more impressive than anything he did on the field.

I remember the '80 World Series between the Phils and the Royals. I went to game 2: the legendary "Preparation H" game, which George Brett had to "sit out" with a bad case of 'roids.93henfan wrote:Royals make the postseason for the first time in 29 years.

That was some entertaining baseball back in the days before steroids, but with hemorrhoids. And tons of speed. I'm convinced Pete Rose was constantly high on greenies the way that guy played. And Brett's rant during the Yankees pine tar incident is still a classic.Ivytalk wrote:I remember the '80 World Series between the Phils and the Royals. Re: MLB Opening Day
Nice Tribute to a great consistent player. Jeter is not at the level of Ruth or Gehrig or DiMaggio or Mantle or other Yankee greats, but he was consistently good over a long career that transcended the "Roid Era". His career stats are great, and he wasn't associated with roids. He was a leader on the field, kind relate him to Bison QB Brock Jensen, not the best athlete on the team, they just knew how to win. Of course his is over-rated being a Yankee, but he still had a great career of being a winner.

I wish the Twins could play the Tigers more.
Tigers were 11% of the Twins schedule but accounted for 17% of the Twins runs on the season

Felix takes the mound in a couple of hours to lead the Mariners to glory and seal up the Cy Young.

So if they win and A's lose they wouldn't have him available for 163rd game OR the wild card game? YikesGrizalltheway wrote:Felix takes the mound in a couple of hours to lead the Mariners to glory and seal up the Cy Young.

Sucks, but you have to give yourself the best chance to get to those games. Someone else will have to step up and stop sucking.bandl wrote:So if they win and A's lose they wouldn't have him available for 163rd game OR the wild card game?
