NOT happy that Mr. Elk Grove won the NASCAR Championship. SMH....
A yr after ‘n***a‘ on a hot mike & suspeneded from NASCAR, to 10 wins and the Cup title, despite no season long primary sponsor.. 1st title for Hendrick in 5 years since Johnson‘s last in 2016..
Could count on 1 hand how many races watched this yr. Was pulling for Truex, but if the guy who wins more than 2x the amount of races as anyone else doesn‘t win the title, NASCAR would be even a bigger crock than it is.

Great "race" again in F1.
You're confusing F1 with NASCAR. F1 doesn't have aero mods and engine power restrictions to bunch cars together, stage racing, and cautions for hot dog wrappers every 30 laps to ensure the constant bunching of the field that you seem to demand. I equate NASCAR's equality rules to communism, while F1 is more of a survival of the fittest. Those who work hardest, are most innovative, and pour the most resources into their craft do the best and are rewarded accordingly. If you can't hang, that's on you.
By all accounts, this F1 season has been extremely exciting. I haven't missed a lap, and I didn't watch a single lap of NASCAR's championship race at thrilling Phoenix speedway.

I'm not watching either. Both are terrible in their own way. When two drivers win 14 of 18 races... it's not entertaining to me. I've actually tried to watch a couple F1 races and end up switching over to EPL games. That's how boring they are.

This is the exact same reason I quit watching NASCAR. The Toyota appeasement was the last straw.

Byron will win next year. He and his team are getting better and better every year, and it's time....

I'd love to comment on how dumb your comment is, but I haven't followed NASCAR for a few years now, so I'd only be making an assumption.
93 is banking on my previous affection for Danica. As much as I liked her, Byron has much better performance from his support staff and (at least for NASCAR) is a better driver. Danica should never have left IndyCar.

Lol, 93 is right, you're an idiot if you think Byron is going to win next year..

1. Mercedes finds new speed in Practice 1.
2. Hamilton wins qualifying by a near half-second gap.
3. After qualifying, Verstappen walks over to Hamilton's car, looks at the rear wing, and wiggles it.
4. Stewards investigate Hamilton's car, find that when open for DRS, it's out of spec, allowing too much air through (i.e., higher speed on straights), and disqualify him. They also fine Verstappen 50K euro for touching his car.
5. Hamilton goes from 20th to 5th in 24 laps in the sprint qualifying race.
6. Hamilton will start 10th in today's race after 5 place power unit change grid penalty.

Damn, that race was awesome.
They way Hamilton tore through the field in the sprint, there was no doubt he was going to do the same today. Damn impressive driving on both days.
F1 is interesting in that you get three sets of power components (ICE and hybrid PU) for the season, but you can take a 5 grid spot penalty for replacing either, or 10 for both at the same time, after your allocation of three is up. It was certainly worth the PU change for Hamilton a couple of races back and the ICE today. He clearly picked up the pace over Mexico. Gonna be an interesting final three races in the sand box. Hamilton down 14 points. The delta from 1st to 2nd is 7 points, and from 2nd to 3rd is 3 points. Plus the point for fastest lap, which the winner is almost never going to get. Absent a mechanical failure by Verstappen, Hamilton has to win all three or get Bottas to help him by finishing ahead of Verstappen a time or two. Tons of pressure on Mercedes. Who needs cheesy playoffs? Take note, NASCAR.
Also, on the Verstappen incident where he ran Hamilton off the track today, it could have been a 5 second penalty. Since it became a moot point, I'm glad they didn't assess it. Hamilton may get an even up call later. It's good to bank a little goodwill with the stewards.
I'm amazed that Hamilton finished the race, with the amount of sheer stupidity displayed by Verstappen on multiple occasions today, but wow what a race.

Just watched P1 and P2 from Abu Dhabi. Mercedes and Red Bull both sandbagging. Nobody wants to show their hand before qualifying. Funny to watch.
I watched P2 and thought the same. I'm looking forward to Max pushing his way around the track.
Someone made a funny video forecasting this weekends race - Max runs Lewis off the track, jumps out and proceeds to beat the shit out of Lewis.

Max has incentive to crash Lewis out in the first turn. If he does, he's champion.
If I'm Lewis, I either want to be on the pole with Valteri in 2nd, or I want to be behind Max. I would not want to be within kissing distance of Max in turn 1. At all. He's proven time and again this year that he's a dangerous driver with no respect for racing etiquette.

One of the absolute craziest races I've ever seen in my life today. This F1 season just continues to deliver. Sad it'll be over next Sunday morning.
I turned on the replay and saw Hamilton with a 5 second lead over Verstappen and then 25+ seconds to third. Turned it off.

I think it was Sochi where Hamilton erased a 25+ second deficit in about 2 laps....that's astonishing. The Merc car PLUS Hamilton in the seat is such a deadly combo.
