Nishi to short I'm okay with. I don't see Cuddy as an everyday second baseman though.

I'd love to see the Twins make a run at a real good SS, if there are any on the market.

However, when your DL looks like this

J. Kubel 15-day DL - starter DH/OF
J. Mauer 60-day DL - starting C
J. Nathan 15-day DL - #1 closer
T. Nishioka 60-day DL - starting 2nd
G. Perkins 15-day DL
K. Slowey 15-day DL
J. Thome 15-day DL - starting DH

It's tough to see what the team truly needs.

I'd love to see the team look like

C: Mauer, Butera
1st: Morneau, Cuddy
2nd: Nishi, Alexi (I think Alexi is a service able 2nd option for the MI, but not a starter)
SS: Someone other than who we have, Tolbert/Alexi
3rd: Valencia (not a world beater, but good enough right now), Tolbert/Hughes
LF: Young, Repko, Tosoni
CF: Rever, Repko, Tosoni
RF: Cuddy, Repko, Tosoni
DH: Thome, Kuebel

Sadly, it's looking more and more like the Twins will likely be sellers come the trade deadline (unless the entire AL Central continues to faulter and they can climb back into contention by the AS break.). I'd bet Kubel, Capps, Cuddyer, Slowey, Liriano, Nathan, Thome, and Young are all on the block.

Here is an interesting take on the Twins trade situation http://www.twinkietown.com/2011/5/17/21 ... #storyjump" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cuddyer is a Hampton Roads native. ...just thought I'd point that out. :thumb:

In a battle for first place in the AL Central, Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers (and former ODU baseball star) had a no-hitter going into the 8th inning tonight and will most likely pitch a complete game 1-hit shutout. :thumb: :notworthy:

I realize...however, a couple years of playing 1st and RF in the bigs will change a mans body type. I don't know what he weighed when he was drafted, but how many 6'2 220lb SS's do you see in the bigs right now....how about 2nd baseman?

Ripken and A-Rod were at short as an example of big guys in the middle infield positions. Cuddy and Kubel are free agents after this season, with Revere playing great, one of them might not be back next year.

Cuddy will probably be at firstbase for a while, as Morneau is on the DL. Morneau reminds me of Jimmie Hall, a promising slugger with the Twins. Hall was beaned, and never recovered his batting prowless afterwards. Morneau has been slow to comeback in the same way Hall was. Hall is now a recluse in the Applachain of North Carolina.

I'm really pulling for the Tigers this year even though I'm a Yankee fan. I'd love to see them make the playoffs. Verlander has only made the playoffs once in his career. Also some reports are saying he's having the best season of his career. :D

Don't doubt it. The Twins are a very good second half team most years.

I'm not doubting it. I think they got the lineup to do it with the combination that the rest of the division isn't very good.

Former ODU baseball star and Chicago White Sox and current Arizona DBack Dan Hudson starts tonight against the White Sox. LETS GO D'BACKS!!!!
Last July 30, Daniel Hudson was acquired by Arizona from the Chicago White Sox for 2009 All-Star Edwin Jackson in a swap of pitchers.

The Diamondbacks appear to have gotten the better of the deal.

Hudson will try to extend his surge Friday night as Arizona opens a three-game weekend set against Jackson and the White Sox in Phoenix.

Arizona had the second-worst record in the NL last year when they shipped Jackson, who threw a no-hitter earlier in the season, to Chicago for Hudson, who had a 4.72 ERA in nine games over two seasons.

Since the deal, Hudson has gone 14-6 with a 2.83 ERA in 25 starts with Arizona going 16-9. Jackson has posted an 8-7 record with a 3.83 ERA as Chicago has split his 24 starts. Hudson (7-5, 3.82 ERA) also is averaging 8.2 strikeouts per nine innings compared to Jackson's 7.9.

After getting off to an 0-4 start in 2011 for Arizona, Hudson has turned things around by going 7-1 with a 3.06 ERA in 10 games. He gave up one run and eight hits in six innings of the Diamondbacks' 5-1 win over Florida on Sunday.

Twins are 12-3 this month, and finally have Nishi and Joe back.

Hopefully things get rolling like they should be. The fact the Twins are under 10 games back after the way the season started gives me a lot of hope. Twins have been a great second half team, and it looks like they are starting to get shit going now.

Oh, and the Twins are something like 28-7 in their last 35 against the White Sux.

Former ODU star and starting pitcher Dan Hudson for the Dbacks shut down the White Sox to win 4-1. The lone run came off of a Paul Konerko homerun...

Hudson pitched a complete game, 3-hitter, and walked 1, and struck out 5.

Twins moved out of the cellar yesterday passing the Royals after getting a walkoff win to complete a three game sweep of the Padres 5-4

The Royals meanwhile lost in St. Louis on a Skip Schumaker walkoff homer.

I believe the twins are currenly 15_3 in the month of june and have the roster at about 80 percent healthy finally. Might not get to the 95 wins like I projected but they still are the favorites to won rhe division
