Re: Here come the Rays
Rays pull within 2. Sox have a huge advantage schedule-wise: 7 against Baltimore and only 3 against the Yanks, Rays have 7 against the Yanks and 3 against Toronto. Should be interesting.

Re: Here come the Rays
I'm a Yankees fan and I want the them to clinch the division, on the other hand I want the Rays to continue winning and overtake the Red Sox for the wild card. Gonna be a fun final 10 games to the season.Grizalltheway wrote:Rays pull within 2. I feel like the O's are screwing everything up. If they didn't take 2 from the rays recently then the rays would have overtaken the Red Sox for the wild card.grizzaholic wrote:but...the O's, yes those O's, have taken 2 of 3 from the sox.ODUalum11 wrote:good news red sox lost, bad news....rays lost.

maybe its the Rays screwing everything up.. afterall, had TB not recently taken 6 of 7 from Boston, the Sox would be up by a gazillion games.ODUalum11 wrote:I feel like the O's are screwing everything up. The offense has lived upto the expectations... but when you play basically 4 weeks with only one season starting rotation guy pitching.... what can one expect.....
Best hope is Bedard pitches like he can and Lester and Beckett are on in the playoffs.... I dont expect Boston to use a 4th guy.... they will throw guys on short rest if they have to.

as they say, the baseball season is marathon, not a sprint. There was a good 2-3 weeks where Boston did in fact look almost unbeatable.UNHWildCats wrote:if only april and september didnt count.... if only... from may thru august... no one.... NO ONE was in Boston's class...ODUalum11 wrote:

From April 16 thru August Boston went 83-43. In that same time frame New York went 72-46 and Philadelphia went 77-42.... hardly call that a 2-3 week period.

I'm talking about one stretch in particular where the Red Sox literally scored 10+ runs consistently.

I got a strange feeling this game has the makings of a 15-inning or longer marathon....

Even though I'm a Yankees fan, I would certainly not mind if that happened today. The Yanks are currently up 6 games on the Sox so I'm pretty confident they have the division wrapped up.grizzaholic wrote:I have the feeling that the Rays will pick up 1.5 games on Boston today.ODUalum11 wrote:I got a strange feeling this game has the makings of a 15-inning or longer marathon....

Yes, they do. And if the Yankees could bring themselves to give up back to back games to the Rays....god...I would make another donation to CS in UNH's name.ODUalum11 wrote:Even though I'm a Yankees fan, I would certainly not mind if that happened today. And that might be the end of game one. Yanks picked up 2 runs just now.
