Not just beat, sent them on the hell of a path that we have been on since then. I actually don't hate them all that much, not like my true team hatreds. I just despise them. I loathe even abhor the other teams I hate.

And I hear bitching from both, more so from baseball players.
Ok I ate so now I can develop less of a cop out response. First of all, the Yankees do participate in revenue sharing, but the response I had come up with was about the less competitive point of FA signing. That was my beef. I was too hungry before to think apparently.

How per se do you expect it to survive after implementing one?

I dunno. I think the league may need to scale back a few teams. Teams like Florida and KC are struggling.wideright82 wrote:slycat wrote:Yes. Baseball will die without a salary cap.

NFL does just fine with the Salary cap.
It would actually help, because every team would have a chance. A salary floor and cap, like the NFL, would be needed - put the minimum in the $75 Million range.

How many World Series have the Yankees won lately? Paying high dollars for established veteran stars may help you win, but it's certainly not a guarantee. Sometimes you get a guy who's career has already peaked.
Smaller market teams can stay competitive by taking the luxury tax money that the Yankees pay and building up their farm systems. Florida, for all their lack of fan support, has done a great job doing this.

It's called professional baseball, you got money, you spend it.

Florida never knows when they will be good, so they don't sell as many season tickets as the Yankees, Red Sox or Phillies; whose fans expect to contend every year.AshevilleApp wrote:How many World Series have the Yankees won lately? It's a flawed economic model but I don't blame the Yankees for exploiting it. Sure, small market teams will win it all every now and then, but over the long haul, it will be the teams with revenue that win
