A horrible roughing the passer call turned out to be the difference. Merry Christmas 49ers.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. They also could've called PI on the 4th down play at the end. But the Harry Douglas "catch" was not. You've got to be good enough to overcome poor calls. SF was, Atlanta wasn't.Pwns wrote:A horrible roughing the passer call turned out to be the difference. Merry Christmas 49ers.

Gonna pull an Ivy and quote myself.kalm wrote:This.93henfan wrote:Went with SF v Balt with Balt taking it all.
I think the Niners just crush Atl and the Ravens barely get by NE, maybe even another OT game.
Then it's all for Ray in the SB.
It's felt like a victory lap for Ray since the start of the playoffs and as long as SF can consistently pressure Ryan.

Except it was a catch. And at least the catch (which was at worst questionable) is reviewable while a horrible RtP call is not.kalm wrote:Yeah, that was pretty bad. No...it bobbled. Regardless, the 49ers were good enough to overcome the bad call. The Falcons were not and were bound to lose to one of the NFC West teams. They were fortunate to get past Seattle. They should feel honored.Pwns wrote:Except it was a catch. And at least the catch is at worst questionable is reviewable while a horrible RtP call is not.kalm wrote:

Did I miss some drama in the SF/ATL game? I was helping a friend build his reloading area and missed the SF/ATL and most of the NE/BAL game.Ivytalk wrote:On to Super Sunday! The apotheosis of corporate America!

Yup. Falcons coughed up another big lead today, and Kap brought the Niners back. Some controversial late calls on both sides.grizzaholic wrote:Did I miss some drama in the SF/ATL game? The calls didn't make the game, or did they, depending on what team you rooted for?Ivytalk wrote:Yup. Falcons coughed up another big lead today, and Kap brought the Niners back. Some controversial late calls on both sides.grizzaholic wrote:

Re: Super Bowl Participants and Champion?
I doubt it. Bad video replay upholding a Falcons catch. Possible no-call PI helped SF late, as did a phantom roughing the passer call against Atlanta. Ryan turned the ball over two or three times late. Good game.grizzaholic wrote:The calls didn't make the game, or did they, depending on what team you rooted for?Ivytalk wrote: Yup. Speaking of whining, I haven't heard a Seahawks fan mention their pretend championship in at least 2 days now. Maybe they finally learned to shut the f#ck up

Can't blame Ryan and his 396 yds and 3 tds they need a bonafide pass rusher and more help on defense.Ivytalk wrote:It is.Ivytalk wrote:UH, oh...that great sucking sound coming out of Atlanta... That GAGGING sound... Could it be?

Truth.Russel Wilson can do no wrong. Though that was a block in the back it doesn't count.
