All bitter just 'cause the Nats shit the bed.

Pretty much. I'm not really a baseball fan and for me the timing of the MLB playoffs couldn't be worse. CF is in full swing as is the NFL, the NHL is back in action, NASCAR final races, President's Cup this weekend... without the Nats (or Phillies or Orioles) in the playoffs, I honestly don't care about the WS. Yankees didn't make it. Braves are down 1. That's pretty much as excited as I get.

I won't argue. The Phillies sucked and if the Rays weren't in the playoffs I wouldn't give a shit either. That is the difference between baseball (and I'm a fan) and other sports like football - most people won't watch unless they have a vested rooting interest.

We just had a golf outing two weeks ago for my daughters school and there was a prize table with school logo'd cowbells that were left over. Had a few soda pops during the 6+ hour round and was feeling no pain and thought, hey! we could use those at school hockey games and snatched them all up. Next morning I came to my senses and realized I did NOT want us to be "that team with cowbells". Straight to the trash can.
