I can't believe we're getting this amped up about friggin' Switzerland.

And that we're (ok, I'm) about to root for Russia against our gentle neighbour to daNorth.

Alot has changed in the last 30 years...

I haven't watched a hockey game in probably 5 years until these olympics......are NHL games this entertaining?

Entertaining? Yes. This entertaining? Heck no.

Same basic problem - not enough scoring. Exciting when it's win or go home. Boring as spit when it's game number 27 in an 82 game season...

I don't know...I was thoroughly entertained by the Czech/Latvia game last night.

Maybe I'll check out a Devils or Ranger game when the start playing again. I'm sure tickets are easy to come by. They'll probably give me free Knicks tickets with the purchase of any Ranger tickets..

Like Rob said there isn't enough scoring for it to be this interesting. The fact it is USA vs the world, basically makes it more entertaining too imo.

I love the NHL, and almost all of the guys in the Olympics are NHL guys. There just isn't the scoring to make it as interesting to the general public on TV. In person though, tough to beat a hockey atmosphere.

2-0! Cue up the Lee Greenwood music.

Winner of Finland/Czech Republic up next. Win that one and it's at least a silver. Lose it and play for the bronze.

Czech's looked beatable last night as they snuck by Latvia in OT, they might also be without Jagr.
Fins didn't look to good against Sweden, but most teams don't looks good against Sweden.

I think the Fins win today, mainly because the Czech's played yesterday. I like the US chances against either team.

What makes you say that? Finland's been playing better so far and Jagr's been looking slow for the Czech's. With the extra day rest, I'd fully expect Finland to be playing the US next round.

Jagr left last nights game 50 seconds into the second period and never returned. I'm not sure he'll even play today.

thanks for the link wedge. what sucks is I had to watch that on 17" grainy vision instead of my nice ass tv. FUCK NBC show it live to everyone. Cocksuckers!

The feed was 45 sec behind, ESPN told me we made it 2-0 before I saw it.

Agreed with this. It's tough to play as strong when you have back to back days of games (less than 24 hours apart) and the other team has had 2 days of rest. Especially if Jagr is not in. As always though, a hot goalie could win it for either team.

I am rooting for a very physical, emotional OT game that goes to a shootout where both teams are almost crawling at the end of the game.
