So will they announce a sellout for tonight's game between the Floundering Phils and the Woeful Wockies?

Nope. No sweep. Worley pitched great - no offense to support him.
Phils need to win series' now - Rays next & then the Pirates.
Most overrated pitcher in the game throwing tonight - hopefully he gets win #1

Phils blow a 6-4 lead with 2 outs in the 9th. Jim Thome leads of the bottom of the 9th with a walk-off HR. Phils win 7-6.
I don't know if this will turn things around for the Phils, but it's the highlight of the season so far.

First save he's blown all year, he didn't have his best stuff. He also threw 31 pitches, I hope that he's available tomorrow with two games scheduled.Ivytalk wrote:Gotta start somewhere!BlueHen86 wrote:Phils blow a 6-4 lead with 2 outs in the 9th. Thome's walk-off HR was the 13th of his career, the most all-tme in MLB.

Another crappy start for Kendrick. But for injuries to other starters, he'd be in KC (or AAA) right now.BlueHen86 wrote:First save he's blown all year, he didn't have his best stuff. Cliff Lee - $20M for what?
I defy anyone to name a more over-rated pitcher currently in the game....go ahead, think hard, take your best shot, you can't do it.
Hopefully Ruben can't either & he trades his ass.

The fans -- what's left of us -- will be in open revolt if the Phils don't take at least 3 of 4 from Pittsburgh.
Maybe hang Amaro, Schmendrick or Qualls in effigy. Something to get the juices flowing.

He has a higher fWAR than Kershaw, Weaver, and Price. He's soooo terrible!

So name a more over-rated pitcher. Don't give me sabremetrics - they don't put you into the playoffs.Seahawks08 wrote:Cliff Lee - $20M for what?

In better news, look for a jump on Wednesday when the Captain returns. You can already see the fire being lit under guys just with him back in the dugout last night. The Bank will be electric on Wednesday for the return.

How are the Phils doing this year anyway? I moved to another state and can't follow them. Was thinking about joining the Nats bandwagon.

Chase is coming back and he looks fired up. All will be well soon. Besides, we've been a second half team for years now. All that's different this year is we're going to try doing it without a first half of the season. It's not even the All-Star break yet - plent of baseball still to be played.

Have the faith, man. When hearing Utley speak, I could just hear Mickey from Rocky II shouting "what are we watin fer!?!" after Adrian told Rocky she wanted him to win. I believe.Ivytalk wrote:Every dayGannonFan wrote:Chase is coming back and he looks fired up. All will be well soon. Besides, we've been a second half team for years now.
