Well one of the 6 at home was Game 3's starting pitcher, Hiroki Kuroda, who gave up 4 runs on 2 HR's in a 6-1 loss.andy7171 wrote:Yeah, but against which starting pitchers!?!89Hen wrote: The answer is 3-6 vs the O's this year.

Re: Baltimore Orioles
Yeah, and the rest of their wins came against pitchers who aren't on the Yankees' playoff roster (half from Ivan Nova). 6-3 is 6-3, but it doesn't mean a whole lot in those next 3 games.89Hen wrote:Well one of the 6 at home was Game 3's starting pitcher, Hiroki Kuroda, who gave up 4 runs on 2 HR's in a 6-1 loss.andy7171 wrote: Yeah, but against which starting pitchers!?!

Extreme fail. Two of the six wins were against Hughes (7-1 and 8-3). Oh BTW, he's Game 4 starter.rkwittem wrote:Yeah, and the rest of their wins came against pitchers who aren't on the Yankees' playoff roster (half from Ivan Nova). 6-3 is 6-3, but it doesn't mean a whole lot in those next 3 games.89Hen wrote: Well one of the 6 at home was Game 3's starting pitcher, Hiroki Kuroda, who gave up 4 runs on 2 HR's in a 6-1 loss.

Re: Baltimore Orioles
Yankees' losses in the Bronx against the Orioles belong to Phil Hughes (May 1), Ivan Nova (May 2), Freddy Garcia (July 30), Nova (July 31), Kuroda (August 31), and Hughes (Sept 2). So again, 3 of their wins don't mean squat.89Hen wrote:Extreme fail. Two of the six wins were against Hughes (7-1 and 8-3). In any case, it doesn't change the fact that half of the Orioles' wins came against guys they won't see in the ALDS....oh and Kuroda looked pretty good to me. Did you selectively forget that Kuroda also shut the O's down earlier in the year as well?

Shouldn't have taken Gonzales out. Regardless, A-rod getting pinch hit is classic!

Re: Baltimore Orioles
A-rod said all the right things after the game, and it sure makes it tough to pout when you haven't done shit and the guy that comes in for you pulls off a performance for the ages.
Man, all those gaudy late inning stats for the O's pen sure look meaningless now. Baseball is such a humbling game.
