Eye popping on Baines … no… that dude could hit, sweet swing and besides he was the #1 draft pick in 1977 out of a little town on the Delmarva peninsula… never happened before or after
Sutter dominated as a closer for several years … I’ll put him on the further review but the domination was real

Hunter had 9 gold gloves, Baines zero. Hitting was similar, Baines played 3 additional years. Hunter could steal a few bases. Hunters WAR is 10+ points higher.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 8:08 amEye popping on Baines … no… that dude could hit, sweet swing and besides he was the #1 draft pick in 1977 out of a little town on the Delmarva peninsula… never happened before or after

Those xtra 3 years Baines played pulled his lifetime BA down to .289…. Baines is a solid HOF member with the batGil Dobie wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 6:11 amHunter had 9 gold gloves, Baines zero. Hunter is an intriguing case, I won’t protest if he makes it some day

A closer look reveals Hunter played 7 games his first 2 years. So it was more like 5 years less than Baines. Baines was good, just think Hunters D puts him ahead.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 7:36 amThose xtra 3 years Baines played pulled his lifetime BA down to .289….
