US women just getting outclassed in the gold medal game. 2-0 at the second intermission. Not over just yet, but America's hat is playing hungry in front of the home crowd.
Canada's goalie is on her game tonight,
and the US team's offense isn't clicking.
Unless they can find a more effective strategy in the final period, it looks like it's going to be a silver.
Was anyone just watching the men's freestyle aerials? Jeret Peterson, just as he started down the hill, yelled "C'MON BITCH!!!" I had to rewind the DVR just to be sure it was him, and yep, that's exactly what he said.

He landed a helluva jump too.
He's a crazy dude. He got kicked out of Torino in 2006 after getting arrested for starting a bar brawl.
"C'mon, bitch," he tells himself before each attempt, trying to build up enough rage to pull him through the torque and the terror of his blind free fall. "Up there I want to let all my emotions out," he explains. "Take the passion I've built up and lay it out on the snow."

Yeah, great effort by the US Nordic Combined team in this Olympics - 4 medals in 3 events where they had never medalled in 86 years. And they got nipped at the end in the first two races and had to settle for silver in both before finally going 1-2 in the last one. Kudos to them.
The Canadian women's team definitely knows how to celebrate a win.....
Finally, fans of the Olympics got a women's hockey game worth watching.
Unfortunately, the behavior afterwards was jaw-dropping.
Canada defeated the USA in the gold-medal game of women's hockey Thursday 2-0. Canada's goalie played a great game, just a tad better than the USA netminder.
About an hour after the game was when things really got interesting.
Canada players returned to the ice drinking beer and champagne and smoking cigars. One report said a Canada player tried to drive the Zamboni around the ice while her teammates were getting their pictures taken with bottles of champagne and beer in their hands.
Steve Keough, a spokesman for the Canadian Olympic Committee, told the Associated Press that the COC didn't provide the booze. He said of the party: "In terms of the actual celebration, it's not exactly something uncommon in Canada."

male pro athletes are always having champagne-soaked celebrations after winning championships and the like.
I just hope that the player driving the zamboni hadn't been drinking too much.
Friends don't let friends drink and zamboni.
It's only jaw-dropping because it happened in the Olympics, on the ice of their venue. I've never seen anything like this, maybe that is why I kind of like it.
Of course I am not a PC crazed sports governing body, the IOC is right up there with NCAA in terms of going after stuff like this. Add on to the fact that I doubt Molson is a sponsor, and they are probably worked up into a frenzy. If the only would have passed around some plastic Coke cups first....
Yeah - its just different because its out in the open in their uniforms and not back at the olympic village.
From what I understand that Olympic Village is the place to be.........although I imagine the summer olympics probably has hotter women....but if someone wants to prove me wrong with tons of pics then I'd be willing to change my mind.

As I type I am listening to my boss drone on to the lady in the office next to me about how "disguting", "low class" and "shameful" the Canadian women acted after winning hockey gold. Of course, he seems to think similar things about almost everyone. I really don't like that guy.
